I don’t tend to write a lot of reviews but after our experience last night, I am compelled to write one.
We had a reservation and were immediately sat on the patio, in the back. The table is logistically too large for the couch and made it hard to slide into our seats.
Our server presented us with menus and when we asked what non alcoholic drinks options there were he only said that they had mocktails. No mention of any other choices. My partner ordered a mocktail of some kind and I stuck with water. We placed our appetizer order and then he left.
The apps came out fairly quickly. Maybe too quickly. The truffle arancini was way too overpowering and the meatball was so-so.
During this time we drank all of our water that was in our respective glasses. It was not refilled. Not once.
We watched our server and multiple runners come by our table/section and only once did they check on us, and they still did not refill our water. This was a problem for the multiple tables around us. Because at one point a man got up and refilled his own table’s water glasses and then put the water pitcher back on the serving stand.
We ended up flagging down the host to get us a bottle of sparkling water. We got one. But then! the bottle was put in a ice bucket a good five feet away from our table so it was inaccessible. No one ever refilled our glasses with the sparkling water we paid for.
Meanwhile the mocktail was not good. Way too bitter.
When our entrees finally arrived we were less than excited. My potatoes were luke warm. The $89 dry-aged rib eye tasted like it was burnt, was bordering on getting cold and nowhere near that price point. I felt ripped off. It had way too much marbling and fat to be the right cut of rib eye.
My partner got the lasagna and she was not impressed. It was physically hot but the pasta noodles seemed to be the only fresh element. The meat was over-processed and over cooked. The cheese was funky. The béchamel had split it seemed. Not worth the price you pay, again.
Our server finally came back and we asked for things to be boxed up. He presented us with a dessert menu and we declined. He asked “Are you sure?” Like, yes, do you see how much food we’re boxing up to not be directly rude to you? Yes. We are sure.
We will not be coming back. Nor will we be recommending it for any of our...
Read moreCame here with 4 friends to celebrate a bachelorette. We were very excited to try this place and have heard good things … but the experience was more than lacking.
While the ambience, service, and presentation for the most part was ok. The food was incredibly disappointing for a restaurant of supposedly acclaimed caliber. We ordered the beef tartare, gnocchi, sourdough bread, pig ear, bison agnolotti, sturgeon, upgraded akauchi steak to wagyu, shishito peppers, amongst other dishes. Probably the only redeemable part of the kitchen was the dessert and truffle fries (although it’s a bit weird that fries were listed as a starter).
The tartare was not tenderized and had the texture of heavily mayoed rubber. The gnocchi was completely overdone with no chew. The sourdough bread was over baked with a burnt taste of rosemary and crust that broke your teeth. The pig ear was unfortunately overdone and while attempting to be crispy, was doused with an overly sweet orange sauce. The agnolotti was ok - although a bit heavy on the salt. The sturgeon was overdone and had no flavor. The sauce accompany the sturgeon was too tart.
My biggest complaint was the wagyu… which probably wasn’t wagyu at all as the steak came out overdone on the outside with no marbling. We were still charged for the wagyu. Unfortunately we did not catch this until after signing the check and reevaluating our meal.
Shishito peppers were ok if you like flacid peppers with no crunch.
While service throughout the meal was excellent from Justin. We do wonder if more practice is needed in how to handle an unsatisfied customer. After providing critical feedback to the kitchen after the check, no manager was sent out to address the complaint.
We are not the type to make complaints and will finish the plates as much as we can to prevent food waste. We also understand that the kitchens may be short staffed and this could be a one off experience. However for a restaurant of this caliber, our expectations were not met. Unless the kitchen improves significantly, would not recommend...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate a birthday and had a good time. The wait staff was top notch. The facility and atmosphere is excellent and a cool place to chill and relax before/after dinner (wish their shop stayed open later).
As with most farm to table restaurant, you don't get a book of menu, but a single sheet. They do have a bar but no blended drinks. The meal started with a complimentary palate cleanser that was refreshing. The oysters was fresh and had great taste. The black truffle fries a favorite for all of us (who new French Fries can taste this good!) The Warm Burrata was the best we've had as the basil breadcrumb added a whole new dimension of flavor to the dish. The Delta Asparagus was excellent as the lobster and condiments really exemplified the dish. The Beef Tartare was an excellent starter choice (but wish they warmed the bread) The Glazed Pork Belly was delicious. It was cooked to perfection with the skin crispy. The Entrees were not that exciting Out of all their offering, their Risotto had the best taste (the additional black truffle flakes was an excellent choice), but was a thicker than what we're use to. The New York steak was leaning towards medium instead of medium rare, and the duck breast and Halibut should've been off the grill a few minutes early. We've shared some of their Garden Provisions and if you like fresh vegetables, these do not disappoint. We tried their Roasted Carrots, Roasted Shishitos and Broccolini and although all were excellent my favorite was the Broccolini. Portion size are big enough for a table of six to sample some of each. The desserts is another star to FARM. All were nicely done. The sorbet was unique in that you don't taste the frozen flakes, but very smooth texture. The Chocolate Cake with Expresso was rich and a must try for Chocolate and Coffee lovers. The deconstructed key lime pie was unique and was too...
