What a GREAT place to eat.I have eaten here a long time ago.I came by with some family to eat here and get my fix.We had the hearty taco salad,spicy chorizo plate, and shrimp and mushrooms plate.The chips were warm,and the salsa had good flavor actually.The food was all good and the orders were correct.The rice and beans and tortillas that come with the plates were all correct.We had some Cadillac margaritas and they were stout as they should be.The main margarita and another shot of tequila and a shot of Grand Marnier were in shot glasses on the side.It was plenty strong.If you want a strong drink,get the Cadillac Margarita.The waiter was very helpful and I was happy with his service and felt like he enjoyed working there which is important. The only reason I didn't give them five stars was they didn't have pickled jalapenos on the side when I asked for them. Disappointed. First as you wall in, there is a paper that tells the customer about this family business and to avoid corporate chains in a guilt trip kind of way. We sat in cozy booths but I noticed built up dust over my head in the spaced wood slats. A thorough cleaning of the restaurant is in order. The salsa for chips had too much Tabasco - vinegar taste. When the order arrived, I had a beef burrito and enchilada. I specifically asked they both be shredded beef. I got one shredded and one ground beef. The shredded beef was good in the enchilada but that sauce had little flavor. I did not like the ground beef burrito but did note small pieces of jalapeño inside. The refried beans were watery and the rice was too firm like it might have been older. The cabbage side with chips was interesting - missing carrots? It's been about 15 years since I had horrible food and service here, so I figured I'd try again. Previously, the food was all extremely salty, and the very brusque server abandoned us for our entire meal to wait entirely on the only other couple in the restaurant. It was horrible and a bit bizarre. I wondered if he mistook one of us for someone else that he detested. Happy dance 💃 review!
