I’ve been visiting this place for years. I understand the management has changed over the year. They used to have decent food. But after today’s visit, I think this will be my LAST TIME. First of all, when I went to pick up the food, the cashier was a little boy (no more than 6 or 7 years old) I ordered 2 sweet sour chicken, which was COLD when I opened the container. Rice was hard as stone. I asked for Fried pork dumplings and received HALF-Cooked, boiled ones. The dough is barely cooked and super thick, very very doughy and terrible tasting (dipping sauce all over the place) A large chicken lo-Mein is only half full of the container. The total is almost 50 Dollars, but left us hungry because most of the food was so bad we have to throw it away. Never Again.

It has a new owner and new flavors and I love how clean it looks inside ! The chicken fried is yummy and still packed with flavor(it’s a little less salty and less oily which is good!) . Egg rolls are also lighter which I like! I have also tried their beef lo mein and the noodles were perfect. Definitely better then than the older ones. I ordered the lunch portion and it’s enough for two meals for sure!

We ordered beef lo mein and sesame chicken and split both meals. The sesame chicken was gently seasoned, which some people may find pleasant.🤔 Personally, it was too bland for my taste. If you like thin, almost like angel hair noodles in your lo mein, this place has you covered. 🙂 Even though we prefer thicker noodles, the flavor was alright. Thank you for the meal ☺️

We've been ordering from this place at least 15 years, maybe more like 20. It's always been good quality food at fair prices. Not sure if they're under new management, but we've noticed some downslide in the quality of the food this past year. Probably since around when covid-19 became a reality. We've wanted to help support small businesses during this pandemic, but tonight was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak, with this place. We had ordered 2 large orders, and an appetizer. The large orders each should both have included white rice, but there was only a very small container of rice for both of these large size orders. What gives? White rice is very inexpensive. In one of the large orders, the vegetables were undecooked, there wasn't much chicken, and it had a funky taste. The other large order seemed overcooked, and had very little beef. Seems like they're cutting corners with the meat.

Our feeling is that during this pandemic, restaurants in particular should be trying their absolute best, to provide the best quality possible to keep customers returning. And if an establishment needs to raise prices just a little bit, in order to maintain quality, it's understandable, but to reduce quality is nothing short of business suicide. Needless to say, this was our last order...

Update: March 2024

I've read some complaints about the food since ownership changed. I just want to say that my family and I enjoy our usual menu items as much or more than ever! The egg rolls are different from before. I think I taste peanut butter in them, which I personally LOVE. We ordered 5 large entrees tonight (vegetarian and meat) and everything was delicious!

Original Review (2022/2023)

I've ordered from China Kitchen for years. It's a small family owned business that serves very tasty food at very reasonable prices. I've seen recent reviews saying that the quality has dropped. We ordered dinner last night, and everything was wonderful.

We ordered a LOT of food for our family spending about $14 per person. I think the portions are generous. We have enough leftovers for dinner tonight.

The vegetarians in the group never have trouble finding tasty options. I'm not vegetarian but also enjoy the vegetarian dishes.

If you want to save money, phone your order in to avoid online fees....

This message is for the new management or owners. We’ve been regulars here for a couple of years now and respectfully have some recommendations. The fried rice has definitely changed, the flavor is not a rich and the rice seems lighter and not as dark. There’s too many bean sprouts. Please talk to previous owners on recipe or find a better one to stick to. Fried rice is the main thing that everyone buys. Also egg rolls were not as crunchy as they usually are. Please consider making these improvements with the food.

Also I understand that it’s difficult to keep up with a lot of business but make realistic pick up times. I had to wait about 10-15min after pickup time. Previous owners ALWAYS had food ready when they said it would be. Try underpromising and over delivering.

That being said. I’m glad the covid window was taken down and the remodel looks good. But obviously we come there for the food and would like to continue doing...
