Pleasantly surprised with this breakfast spot! My wife & I stopped in on a Saturday an hr before they were to close, for our 1st time to order brunch to-go after browsing their menu online for vegan & gluten-free options. We had a few questions about their offerings while ordering tho, & Alex kindly greeted us & offered to help. He didn't hesitate to go back to the kitchen to confirm ingredients for us which was so helpful & reassuring, & really sets the bar for top notch customer service. Many places are so uninformed on what goes into the food they offer & can't be bothered to help or find out when asked, so it really was so refreshing to be assisted by someone who cared.
🌱⚠️ We were glad we asked tho, bc we found out that while their GF bread option is listed on their menu under the 'Vegan' section, it DOES contain eggs (as some GF breads do), making it NOT vegan. He was also able to confirm for us that their new plant-based sausage (listed under 'Sides') IS gluten-free & vegan. We were kindly shown the ingredient lists of the products to see with our own eyes 🙌🏽 (wish all places did this!)
Considering this, we asked if we could instead have corn tortillas with our Vegan Breakfast Tofu Bowls since we couldn't do the GF bread, & Alex was happy to do that for us at no extra charge! He was also kind enough to offer us both a free iced tea while we waited on our to-go order, which was ready in less than 10 mins. We have not been treated so kindly in a restaurant in a long time & were so appreciative of the positive experience!
🤤 As for the food, it was amazing! & I say this as someone who is vegan/gluten-free, who cooks at home, who is always looking for & knows the struggle of finding GOOD, quality breakfast options that are worth the price & made for my dietary needs. For $17 the bowl was a generous, filling portion, the tofu was tastey & cooked just right, & everything else tasted hearty & homemade. I hoped there would be a bit more vegan cheese then there was, but otherwise everything was great (btw we added in the avocado at home, it isnt included) My wife & I were both delighted to say the least, & we can't wait to visit again & actually dine in!
We would absolutely recommend those who are vegan & GF come try this spot! Really nice atmosphere & so wonderful to see our fellow latinos setting the standard on hospitality in the restaurant industry 💙 Thank you & mucho amor to...
Read moreWent here on mothers day. took my wife out for breakfast with our kids. the food was good, although we thought the portions was pretty small. the service was pretty bad. our waitress was not so great. first we walk in ( we were the second people to be seated, as my family and 1 other person not with us, were waiting at the door when they opened bright and early) as she is taking us to our seats, she asks - would you like a high chair? I said yes, 1 please. thank you. she said ok. and walked off to go and talk with another waitress in the corner. I stood their holding our 14 month old for about 5-6 min, and then realized she was not getting our highchair at all, she was just talking and laughing with another waitress. so I saw where they were, and walked over to get it myself. as I was putting our child into the high chair, the waitress walks by and says.. Oh, I was going to get that for you... I said, that's OK, i got it. so then she comes back a few minutes later and takes our orders. nothing out of the ordinary. pancakes for the kids, and breakfast plates for the 2 adults. no special requests of the food. just straight off the menu. now, it is still very early in the morning and it is still just my family and the 1 other guy in there, no one else had arrived. and it still took over 25 min for our food to arrive. I thought was pretty long. when the food did arrive, and was being sat on the table, i right away, moved the kids fingers away from hot plates, so they don't get burned, however I noticed when doing this, the plates and the food were not hot at all. it was warm. which makes me think that the food had been ready sitting there, but not brought out. again.. there were only 3 adults and 3 children customers in the entire restaurant, so I'm not sure what the waitress was doing. she also never stopped by to ask if everything was ok or not, or if we needed anything else. so, overall, the food was pretty good, although only warm. it was the service that really was the big disappointment. especially since it was mothers day and I wanted to treat my wife to a nice...
Read moreHorrible service. Our server was incredibly rude and frankly racist towards us. The glass of orange juice she served my kid brother has a huge chip in it. Silverware was dirty, and there was a rat in the bathroom 😭. Never coming back. Juicy-o used to be the best restaurant. The new owner, the dude with the weird teeth and receding hairline, turned it into a joke. Edit: the server had made it clear that she thought we were going to leave without paying because of our Mexican heritage and because we were speaking Spanish. After we PAID upfront for our meal( that day) , the owner dude FOLLOWED us to our car, and said that our server told him we skipped the bill LAST TIME we ate there (note: we hadn’t eaten there in months). When I asked him for the date he said he would look. When I asked him the amount the bill was, he said he didn’t know. When I told him I would go inside and he could look at the card history to try and find the date or the unpaid charge he said there was no need because there was “camera footage”. When I asked to see the said footage he said he would have to try and find it first. I told him I would wait and look through the footage with him, he said not to worry about it and have a good day, and he walked away. These people are clowns. He misspelled “thought” twice in his reply. Also it’s “you seemed to leave”, not “you seemed to left”. Nothing worse than...
