Situated at 95th and Book Rd, this unassuming gem captures the essence of Indian cuisine with unparalleled finesse, making it a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts like myself and my wife, who happens to be the lead editor at IFT.
Our journey through Namak's menu was nothing short of a culinary revelation, a testament to the restaurant's dedication to quality and tradition. Despite its modest setting without dine-in options, Namak's commitment to delivering exceptional take-out offerings shines through in every dish.
As connoisseurs of food, my wife and I were immediately struck by the simplicity and cleanliness of Namak's interior. It's a space where the focus is solely on the vibrant flavors and aromas that define Indian cuisine, a true reflection of the restaurant's dedication to its craft.
Our selection of the Pav Bhaji and Paneer Tikka Masala Curry proved to be a masterstroke. Each dish was a symphony of flavors, meticulously crafted to tantalize the taste buds and evoke a sense of culinary nostalgia. The Pav Bhaji, reminiscent of the bustling streets of Mumbai, transported us with its robust spices and buttery pav buns. Meanwhile, the Paneer Tikka Masala Curry, with its tender paneer and velvety tomato-based sauce, surpassed all expectations, showcasing the culinary prowess of Namak's chefs.
As individuals deeply entrenched in the world of food, we understand the importance of attention to detail and a genuine passion for flavor. Namak not only meets but exceeds these expectations, delivering an unparalleled dining experience that celebrates the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine.

We came across this simply by accident. We were hungry but didn't want a full meal and came across Namak online so decided to give it a shot.
We had the dabeli and vada pav; both were EXCELLENT.
The dabeli had the flavors you would have in India. Of course you can never get the 'exact' flavor outside of India for obvious reasons but these folks have done a TERRIFIC job of making it pretty darn close.
Both items were made fresh while I waited, wrapped wonderfully so as to make it easy to eat without making a mess.
The dabeli had the wonderful mixture of sweet and spicy (could be more spicy for my taste though) and the bread was not the sweet American bread one would expect. It was darn close to the 'pav' you get in India.
The vada pav was EPIC. You could taste the flavors, the spices, the freshness of it. If I could have something else, I'd want to try out their side of the vada (they sell just the vadas too).
I had a brief conversation with the staff here; they opened I think 6 or 8 months ago. They don't have a location in the city (PLEASE COME. I'LL BRING SO MANY CUSTOMERS AND MYSELF TOO SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK) sadly so will need to wait to try some of their other stuff till we make the...
Read moreAfter attending church, my wife and I decided to visit Namak, an Indian restaurant located at 1935 95th Street Unit 107 in Naperville, Illinois. Known for its vegetarian Indian street food offerings, Namak's menu features a variety of classic dishes such as Pav Bhaji, Vada Pav, Dahi Vada, Dabeli, and Masala Maggi Noodles.
We opted to order from their specials menu, selecting Pav Bhaji, Masala Maggi, Dahi Vada, Dabeli, and Vada Pav. My wife enjoyed the Masala Maggi, though I found it to be average. As noted in other reviews, some dishes tended to be on the oily side. The Pav Bhaji was ordinary, but the Dabeli stood out as the highlight of our meal, offering a delightful blend of flavors and textures. Unfortunately, the Dahi Vada was disappointing; while the yogurt was flavorful, the vada itself was overly hard. The Vada Pav was also just satisfactory. We also got the shrikhand which was really good but $4.99 for a small shrikhand was a bit steep
Despite some inconsistencies, I see potential in Namak's concept and offerings. With some refinements, particularly in balancing flavors and textures, this establishment could become a go-to spot for authentic vegetarian Indian street food...
