What a find! Had driven past, had seen its ads, but never tried it. My wife was looking through a flier, saw a picture of one of their pies, and said, "That looks good. Let's try it." We did.

Every part of the experience was 5 Stars!

The person who took the phone call was calm and pleasant, not the typical, rushed, difficult to understand experience of other places. (I'm looking at you, Giordano's, Malnati's, and Nancy's.)

We ordered an extra large, three topping, stuffed pizza. It was to be ready in 35-40 minutes. I showed up in that time span, and it was hot and ready.

I lifted it and was surprised: it was, by far, the heaviest pizza I have ever carried. And no more expensive than the other places. On a $ per pound basis, it was a bargain.

But the thing that matters most is: is the pizza good?

It was FANTASTIC, from the taste, to the quantity and quality of ingredients, to the texture of the crust!

Tons of cheese accounted for the weight. One of the toppings was spinach. We were all impressed by its freshness.

And the icing on the cake: it keeps well. The extra large proved to be way too much for us. Pulled the last piece (bagged in a plastic, freezer bag) from the fridge four days later, heated it up, and it was as good as the first day.

This place is twice as far from us as Giordano's, Malnati's, and Nancy's, but it is our new, go-to place.

UPDATE: Liked it so much the first time, we went back the next week. Tried the Deep Dish pizza, plus a sausage and Italian beef combo, and chicken pesto pasta. The pizza was delicious. My wife preferred it to the stuffed, which we both LOVED, but I preferred the stuffed. The combo: Unlike Portillo's, where the flavor is cooked out of the beef, the sausages are usually overcooked, and the flavor comes mostly from the juice on the bun, each element of this one was very flavorful, and the combination of flavors was DELICIOUS. The pasta was the first disappointment. Not bad, but dry. We're used to pasty dishes being wet. But we've never had pesto pasta not home cooked. Maybe it's supposed to be dry.

2nd UPDATE: Since my last update, I have, twice, ordered online. The first time, they got the order wrong, but it was close enough for me to accept it. The second time, they lost the order -- never even saw it.

Fortunately, I had printed out and brought the confirmation with me. They asked me to wait 25 minutes while they made it. No thanks!

They found the order on their system and gave me a refund. They've lost a customer. I will...

Initially, I complained about the lack of toppings on the pizza. However, Joe the owner reached out to apologize which is in itself impressive. He explained that they are training new staff which is understandable. Customer service is a trait expected but now always received. In this case, I have to say that Old Town Pizza delivered. I am adjusting my rating higher because of this fact because even though my pizza could have had more toppings, it still tasted great. Joe promised that my next experience will be top notch as I will expect. I will adjust my review accordingly.

Original review: We ordered for delivery an extra large Chicago Style pizza with sausage, onions, and jalapenos. The pizza arrived within the time promised so very good there. Being a Friday evening, it took about an hour and ten minutes to get the pizza but I consider that fine because of the day and time. When the pizza arrived, it was still nice and hot so very good there as well. The pizza was a lot larger than I had thought since I didn't consider how big an XL pizza would be. The pizza crust sauce and cheese all tasted great. It tasted authentic. Unfortunately, the toppings were very scarce. The pizza didn't taste of sausage because we could barely find any. We had slightly more jalapenos and onion but not much there either.

This pizza place could be great - my first experience was lacking. Not sure where the toppings were! I can't understand it.

I may have to revert back to our usual pizza joint from now on where I know...

UPDATE: I have updated this rating because of the amazing customer service I just experienced. Owner actually called me and he refunded me the entire price of the pizza! In this day and age, its awesome to find such amazing customer service. The owner, Joe, was very kind and explained that they will try communicating to newer customers about what to expect for this particular type of pizza. These are the type of business owner I like to support. Thank you Joe! If I do order from here again, I probably will be getting the thin crust pizza,

Original Review: Got an XL deep dish pizza with spinach. Very little pizza sauce and excessive amounts of cheese. I actually saw reviews from other customers that complained about there being excessive cheese in the deep dish pizza and not enough sauce. I am glad I am not the only one who noticed this.
