It was a lunch date with one of my friends. Both of us visited here for the first time and were pleasantly surprised with the service and the flavorsome food.
The lunch menu has limited options and that is one of the best aspects since too many options can be confusing at times.
We ordered Thai basil-fried rice and Thai green curry. Both dishes come with an appetizer, so we opted for Thai egg rolls (vegetarian-friendly). the server asked us if we would prefer to add tofu to the dish. She was extremely friendly and easy to speak to. She also told us that the basil fried rice contains eggs and veggies and it can be totally skipped as per the customer preference.
The Green Thai curry was quite appetizing. I could taste the authentic Thai flavors and topping it with Tofu was the right decision for that extra protein. It was paired with rice and an appetizer of choice.
The portion size for basil fried rice was decent. I love the subtle basil flavors in every bite, pairing it with egg rolls took the dish to another level. The sweetness of the sauce partnered up well with the spicy rice. You could also ask them to adjust the spice levels to your liking.
The atmosphere is casual and I feel it's a decent place...
Read moreWe've been coming here since just after Yum Yum Thai opened. The service used to be ok but the food was a 6 out of 5 (amazing! )... it used to be the most delicious Thai food in Naperville. Over the past several years, the service remains the same but the prices have gone up and the food quality has gone down. Sadly, Yum Yum Thai is no longer the best Thai Restaurant around.
I recognize the price of everything has gone up so the higher prices don't bother us. We want to support our local businesses. But, that extra cost should not come to customers, new or long time, at the expense of the food quality.
Paying more should allow the owners to maintain the food quality and taste. The Pad Thai for example, used to be the best in Illinois. Now, it has no flavor. Same with the Panang and other curries...panang should be thick like the menu says! Potstickers are small.
Ordering by phone is a constant challenge. We're either hung up on or don't even get through most of the time. Online ordering is clunky and annoying with lots of spelling errors.
As a loyal customer, I hope Yum Yum Thai can turn...
Read moreThis place looks and smells fantastic but the food is awful! My wife and I went there on a Friday night at 8:30 PM and there were only 3 other people eating at the place. Red Flag! The hostess and the bar tender also shared the duties od server and busboy, Red Flag! We got the Thai meat balls for an app (4 fish, 4 beef, 4 shrimp)and only got 2/3 of the balls advertised. When we asked the hostess/waitress said that customers didn't like the beef balls so they don't make them anymore, Red Flag! Also, they were way over cooked and rubbery. When we got our Pad Thai it was a beige mound of gloop. It was the worst looking thing I've ever been served in an eatery! It was mushy, way too sweet and the tofu was over fried to inedibility. We suspect that we were surved leftovers from previous days. We ended up paying for our app and leaving. If they were empty on Friday night, this place will not be open much longer, no matter how big the lunch crowd. Finally to all the other recent positive posts of this...
