My most recent visit to Ed’s Fish was The Celebration Of Their 50th Anniversary! Fish sandwiches were $5 each, the hours of operation were extended, only the drive thru was open. Prior to arriving here, on this day, I was very much aware the establishment would be insanely occupied and swamped with people. I patiently waited in line for over 2 hours! I ordered 4 fish sandwiches. The 2 for me were catfish and whitening fish sandwiches W/mustard, hot sauce, onions, pickles, & extra cheese. All the sandwiches were made correctly, fresh, and fully cooked… It was wonderfully delicious! Along with their strawberry and mango tea! I enjoyed every bite of both of my fish sandwiches… Back to back, nonstop… With water of course. It was definitely worth the wait…

The best single thing I ate in Nashville. You can tell Ed's is an establishment when you roll up at lunchtime by the line of cars. The signage tells you they've been specializing in the whiting fish sandwich since the 1970s and you owe it to yourself to find out why. The whiting fish sandwich is probably the best sandwich I've ever gotten from a drive thru, and it might be there best fried fish sandwich I've ever had. Between two white bread slices are a generous and perfectly fried four fillets slathered with spicy mustard, onions, and ketchup. It is big and has to be held together with a toothpick. It is also super simple and sometimes simplicity wins over all . You should not leave Nashville without eating at Ed's!

I’ve been wanting to go here for a while. Always past by because of the long lines. I’m currently 26 at the time of this review and I remember being about 5 and my mom would always have some catfish and spaghetti from Nashville. She worked in Nashville and would come here for lunch or after work. I didn’t know the name of the restaurant but it wasn’t that difficult to find. The sandwich tastes exactly how I remember. Didn’t care too much for the spaghetti, the taste was different. Very pricey for a little cup, $4?

On April 10th, 2020, I was so looking forward to sharing and Ed's fish dinner with my dad. We often visit the remote location on Smith Springs Road, Nashville. So, I excitedly called ahead, placed my order and asked how long I should wait before coming by (as I live very close). I was told 10 mins. I gave them 20 and still had to wait another 45 minutes. As I stand waiting, I noticed the "lady in the back" was not gloved and was handling the food. Now, we have been eating at Ed's for many, many years and, obviously, we have had no harm from the procedures that they have on place (bare hands may handle food if that is all those hands do). However, at this time, our world is much different than it was. We all are having to adjust in ways that we have not before. I am immuno-compromised and I live with my elderly father who has high blood pressure. Also, we are a part of the American population that is being affected more than others. I can't afford to take chances. On top of that, my mother died just two weeks ago. I am, admittedly, hyperaware of my surroundings and things that may affect our health. So, I was quite surprised when "the lady in the back" began her rant when I decided to decline and have my money returned. She rudely stated that she didn't have to wear gloves and to please give me my money back..."please do" she repeated several times. I wanted to let Mr Morris know that my mother had passed. He knew my parents very well. However, the response I got was, "I run this place!" I repeatedly tried to explain that I didn't realize the procedure. But, she wasn't hearing it...she didn't even try. I have never received such horrible service. This was the end for me and I hate it, too. But, apparently loyal customers are dispensable in some places. I'll take my business to a restaurant that...

To our surprise ( as first timers) this was a drive through only establishment. We wish we had known that because we would have made a different decision. But since the lot was so small there was no exiting once you were in the parking lot/ line. A couple employees were on the parking lot directing everyone how to get in line and one of the employees directing parking lot traffic was also taking orders ( like they do at Chick-fil-A when the line is crazy long). They don't have an online menu so we had to look at photos of the food from FB to even know what the food options were. I'm glad we at least looked at the FB food photos to know that they sell their fish pre-sauced with hot sauce and mustard with onions and pickles. Definitely NOT my thing! Thank goodness we noticed this in time and requested all the sauces on the side before completing our order! We ate what we ordered but not something...

ATTENTION!! If you have ever had an Ed’s fish sandwich from the original on DB Todd, DO NOT GO HERE!! You will feel so disrespected that the name Ed’s fish is associated with this place. I would rather make the drive and pay the extra price at Ed’s out north, than to eat here again. The fish is bland, it was fried to long and it is tasteless! I ordered 6 sandwiches for my family and myself and NO ONE had anything nice to say about the sandwiches, no one finished their food. I gave them 2 stars because one, they take cards (Ed’s out north doesn’t) and I liked the lady taking the orders. The lady cooking the food is rude and unpleasant. Also, can we find a better way to inform individuals that their food is ready other than yelling their names out the window, where everyone and their mama shopping at the grocery store and dollar...
