Flour Your Dreams is an outstanding coffee shop, bakery, and bread spot. I first met the owners, Danny and Tani, when they were selling their outstanding breads, scones, and espresso chocolate chip cookies at Farmer’s Markets in Nashville. Their country seeded sourdough had me checking their instagram to see where they’d be as I regularly craved it and loved serving it to family and friends.
I was thrilled for them when they opened their own shop. As much as I love their breads and sweets, I’ve gotta say that I think they’re the best coffee shop in Nashville. Their coffee is my favorite in town and they have outstanding seasonal flavors and varieties. One of the things I love most about their coffee is that they make all of their syrups, cold foams, and froths with high quality ingredients. They make them from scratch and it shows in the taste.
Recommendations: any coffee option (don’t sleep on the seasonals), breakfast sandwich, chicken pesto sandwich, country sourdough, chocolate espresso cookies, chocolate torte, honey butter scones, and fun bread Friday.
Owners and Staff: Danny and Tani are unbelievably kind. So much so that I added them to my Christmas card list. 😂 Nicole the barista is unbelievably talented and so sweet. Their whole staff has been welcoming and hospitable.
Ambiance: they make great use of the space so you can see them making the pastries and bread. There’s great transparency there. They have a few small tables inside and created a really neat patio out back facing beautiful trees.
Health: as a holistic nutrition educator, I highly recommend Flour Your Dreams. Clean ingredients and everything is made from scratch. Their breads lack the inflammatory preservatives and you can taste the difference of when it’s made from scratch. Their coffee is flavorful and delicious without the chemicals and additives. Even if you’re eating sweets, you can feel really good about what you’re putting...
Read moreI’m in Nashville again and you all know what that means! I had to pop in and get some catfish for lunch at my regular catfish hole on Percy Priest lake. After lunch I thought I might like a sweet so I decided to go to that pink ice cream place and grab me a chocolate cone Driving down Dodson Chapel Road I noticed a new business in the corner shopping center. The word BAKERY called to me so I turned around and went back to check it out. I am so glad I did. The Flour Your Dreams Bakery and Café is new to the area. It is locally owned and operated and it is obvious the owners take great pride in their business. The store is immaculate and staff very friendly and helpful. I’m sorry to say I did not really look at the café menu because I was so enthralled by the fresh bakery goods in the case. I sure didn’t need all the sweets, but they all looked so good it was hard to decide what to get. So I bought four. I got a lemon, blueberry muffin, a piece of chocolate chip pumpkin bread, a chocolate espresso cookie and a slice of the smoothest looking chocolate torte I’ve ever seen. I didn’t even get out of the parking lot before the pumpkin bread was gone and I had tasted the lemon blueberry muffin and the chocolate espresso cookie. Exquisite! I’m very glad they’ve moved into this area. Every time I visit Nashville this is going to be my go-to...
Read moreThe baked goods here are solid and far more consistent than they used to be—definitely a noticeable improvement.
First off, I genuinely appreciate that you’re a cashless business. As someone who used to bake professionally in both France and the U.S.—often starting my day at 1 a.m.—I’ve dealt with enough break-ins to know this is a smart move. Going cashless is a great deterrent, and frankly, anyone still clinging to cash in 2025 is either Boomer or just plain delusional.
Now, onto my (relatively minor) critiques: The prices feel a bit steep. If that’s due to overhead, it might be worth taking a closer look at ways to streamline operations. And this is more of a general Nashville gripe than one specific to your bakery—why do bakeries here open so late? An 8 a.m. opening time is baffling to anyone who’s used to the early rhythm of bakeries in other cities/countries.
Lastly—and this was more amusing than annoying—maybe coach the staff not to correct a native French speaker on how to pronounce croissant, bâtard, or baguette. I got a good laugh out...
