The Nashville Public Library system offers books, audio CD's, DVDs, in-library reference materials (as well as streaming digital versions of music recordings and DVDs/television programs, and books), computers for Web access and research archives of public records, newspapers, and other materials), color and grayscale print service (at a low cost, with availability depending on the branch), meeting rooms, events for the whole family, interlibrary loan, and many other services that one can discover via the Nashville Public Library Web site and via phone. Items at all branches are available, and placing an item on hold ( it is not checked out or has other hold requests) results in very promp access. The staff is accessible in person, via email, and by telephone. The knowledgeable, friendly staff are to be commended for their warmth and expertise. After getting the wiggles out, we would go inside to take advantage of whatever special event or activities that were planned for the day. Large clean restrooms. Future events are posted. I do wish they had not changed to this new totally mediocre library sign but I suppose Metro wants to look like everyone else, and it saddens me sometimes how much we have shrunk but the quality perseveres.
