Siam Cafe is a fantastic find in South Nashville you should certainly add to your restaurant rotation. The place itself is small and comfortable. The dining area is tables and cushioned booths. The ambiance is not much but it's kept neat. The food though is absolutely top notch. They offer a wide selection, that includes well executed standards like Green Curry and (based on other reviews) Pad Thai along with some more adventurous options like a duck curry and various squid options both of which I'll be going back for. Various spice levels are at your disposal. I enjoy a good spicy dish so usually go medium at Thai places. Surprisingly I'd recommend hot here, if you enjoy heat. My dining partner will recommend the "native" spice level but I suspect her tolerance is a bit higher than most. This night my Curry was excellent flavorfully prepared and served with Jasmine rice the spices were fresh and the bamboo shoots were crisp. I'd recommend the steamed dumplings and spring rolls as well. The basil in the rolls was striking and opened up the senses to get you ready for the entrees. The alcohol list is limited to a tasty plum wine that had an excellent nose and was not overly sweet, various beers including the usual Asian selections and some sake. Service was friendly and unobtrusive which facilitated good conversation in the intimate booths. Don't let the location or slightly tight parking lot scare you off try Siam Cafe and bring...
Read moreYum! This place is THE place for awesome Thai food! Super tasty, can be very spicy, and very authentic!
The restaurant is 2 parts: on one side they have a great, filling quick “pick a combo of food for $6,” whereas on the other side it’s a sit down Thai restaurant. If you want the most bang for your buck, go with the fast combination selection! Their fried noodles are a MUST, and their bbq pork is fantastic! I also had their pepper steak (yummy) and their bamboo and chicken curry (mostly bamboo, but so tasty still). I highly suggest this place when you want a no-frills just food place.
Now onto the staff, this family is amazing. They’re super funny, say whatever is on their mind, and constantly joke around with the customers and make you laugh. Even though I ordered food to go, I still left a tip just because I was constantly laughing and smiling from these guys.
So in the end, would I come back? 100000% YES 🙏What would I order? Probably anything since it all looks and tastes good. If I do the combo again, I would get the noodles, bbq pork, and then either the steak or the bamboo chicken. On the main menu? People seem to get the red curry or any of the flat rice noodle dishes a lot, so probably those.
I highly recommend this place to anyone, and I plan on coming here often now that I have...
