This place is terrible! Living in NYC for 35 years , I have learned what good Thai is and this wasn't that. As a vegetarian, I had 2 choices among both the appetizers and entrees. When I inquired whether they could make either the Pad Thai or Green Curry vegetarian, I was met with a abrupt NO and tthe counter person pointed to my only 2 choices on the menu. They refused to omit the "fish sauce" which meant to me that a lot was pre-made and not fresh. Since their 2 "vegetarian" options were boring and didn't interest me I chose to order nothing but plain white rice. Unfortunately, I quickly learned that all their condiments on the table tasted like fish and I couldn't add them to the rice. My partner felt bad for me so she brought an appetizer of "crispy tofu". I took one bite and knew it was cooked in animal fat. Really? Why? As for the atmosphere, we close to eat on the outside deck because of the loud pulsating techno music inside and we wanted to talk to our friends who we hadn't seen in years. A big mistake! The outside deck was horrible! There was a large area of something sticky on the deck that hadn't been cleaned up and of course I stepped in it. Once you sat down it was hard to talk without being interrupted because of the busy street located close below. It seemed to be a popular route for cars wanting to speed and show off their loud exhaust systems. By the end of the meal, I felt like I could taste the carbon monoxide and petrol fumes. They tasted almost as bad...

Read moreAt first glance, it was a quaint little place, and on an overnight final stop on Nashville after a long road trip, my friend and I took our chances to check this out for lunch. It was an extremely satisfying experience so we had to go twice - again for dinner. It was the best culinary decision we made on the trip.
Food spoke for itself with simple and demystified recipes with no attempt to alter to suit the western taste. We went for the hottest options on every dish available. Taste was impeccable and left us stunning.
As someone who’ve lived as a student in Thailand for four years, I felt like I was reminiscing my drunken Pad Thai searches back in a little street corner and had the satisfaction of eventually finding one.
Do not underestimate the size of the prawns, the big tasty bushels of noodles and I’d recommend everyone to try their spice trays.
The portions were filling and taste was as authentic as it comes. Good customer service and fast preparation right in front of you. It gets busy and queue gets long but it’s worth it. I’d also tried red curry, green curry and Tom Yum Noodle soups - and red curry is my top winner. If you’re a daredevil go for spicier scales. I’d definitely be visiting again, but this time with an emptier stomach to gorge down at this Nashville’s very own Degthai - a very...
