Bonnie Cafe — Restaurant in Nashville

Ate here before when it first opened and the service was decent..but the reason im leaving this review is because of my second visit today (02/08/18). We walked in and there was maybe 5 people seated in the whole restaurant. There we two people out that I could see working and what I assume one or two in the back. We were seated by a nice enough girl and then thown to this other gentleman, whom I even resent calling him that here. We ordered our drinks and they came slow. Then were givin the menus which were actually pretty disgusting to even hold. Thats something I can deal with, but what came next was unforgivable.

Nothing.

No one even looked up to come take our order even with the clear sight lines. Me and my dad were appauled and walked up to go pay for our drinks and leave. When we got to the counter the male waiter said "Something wrong?". Why yes sir...something is wrong! Duh!

Can't speak for everyone, but watch out for the rude, middle aged waiter who should lose his job and showed us nothing but attitude and no apology.

Updating 2024: This place is a decent diner but there's still nothing to write home about. The staff quality...

Was told the buffet ended in 5 minutes so we passed on it. Then they converted it to the lunch buffet but didn't tell us that prior. Why not mention that and let us grab from the breakfast buffet before it flips and the lunch after since we came at the switch over? Just charge us for the more expensive lunch one, and it's fine.

So we got the all you can eat breakfast. The idea here seems to be to make you wait so long between orders of food that you don't take full advantage and eat as much as you would if they came to check on you at regular intervals.

Then, we had a card charge included on our bill despite the fact that we were paying in cash.

The pancakes are good here. The grits are dreadful. The rest of the food was o.k.

All in all, pretty good food, but not happy with the service/organization of the place. I'm sure locals would have know how it works, but we were from out of town and got no help when we could...

Great little find on a road trip from IN back to CO. We were looking for a chain restaurant and saw this place. It looked inviting the grounds and parking lot were clean. Buffet was an option that you don't see often especially after COVID. We were met with a smile as soon as we hit the door and taken to our seat. Buffet looked great so why not try it. I was so surprised that each item I tasted from the pickled beets to the hot wings were really good. The husband and I probably between the two of us sampled everything they had to offer on the buffet and we were surprised it was all excellent. Asked the lady to cook a burger with cheese for our dog that was waiting in the car. She quickly delivered and we received our bill they gave us a discount which was a great surprise as well.
