Tripp's Kremeland — Restaurant in Navarre

We were there 4/8 around 4pm or so. Took my son, my sister and her 3 kids here for ice cream. We walked in and waited to be acknowledged, this took 10 minutes. While waiting for our order to be taken, the woman kept glancing around like she was lost. She rang half the order up, then proceeded to go help the guy in the kitchen then helped the cashier. She walked away again after taking credit card to disappear in the back to grab about 10 pens to put in her apron. Meanwhile none of the 4 items have been started that we ordered nor has she asked to take order for the rest of it. Another family has already walked in and left by now because it’s now been 20 minutes since I walked into the place and still have received nothing I ordered. I can literally tell you everything we ordered that took 40 minutes to receive from walking in, to walking out. 1 hot fudge sundaes (ice cream and fudge is all that came one it) 2 pup cups (just ice cream) a brownie sundae, an Oreo flurry, peanut butter sundae (just ice cream and some nasty peanut butter) 2 ice cream cones. All the time we waited there was a gallon of milk sitting in the sun on the counter, lady left to go get a crate full of soft serve to put in machine, 3 customers left for not being acknowledged at all. Then to top off the whole experience there was no napkins out and none were offered to us. Never going back. We thought it was better with new ownership but boy...

Terrible experience. When we were waited on we were told there had been price changes, the waitress said , oh I see they got the prices marked on the menu. If you look at our check compared to the menu prices it was crazy!! I told the young man working there about it and I was told there as nothing he could do because there wasn’t a manager! I told him I also was not paying for pop that I could not even drink because they were out of carbonation. So he called a manager and all they would take off was the pop!

I ordered a mixed veggie basket, I received disgusting mushrooms instead, the menu price $5… I was charged $11.50! My Single burger w/cheese menu price $2.00…I was charged $7.50. The burger tasted of old grease, like the grill had not been cleaned in a long time.

You can clearly see all the price changes on the menu and these items were NOT marked. So how can you not honor the prices on your menu?!? I will never go back!

I watched for an hour as they served ice cream, using a scoop that they are touching with their bare hands and then putting in a pitcher of water that looked absolutely disgusting from hundreds of uses. That water then was dripping on the ice cream as they scooped for the next customer. I mean if the handle wasn’t in the water that would be a different story. But you’re touching money then , touching the handle, then putting it in water, then scooping ice...

I've had this place on my list to check out for a few years and finally happened to be in the area, so stopped to get a taste.

The interior is definitely American diner. I loved the nostalgic tables, bar stools and checkerboard floor.

Friendly service, greeted upon entering and instructed to sit wherever.

The menu is simple but not boring. They have daily specials, as well. I am a big fan of Coney dogs, so I knew what I'd be ordering. The dining room wasn't busy but the order seemed to take a little longer than I'd thought it would. The fries were hot and paired very well with malt vinegar -like fair fries! The Coney dog arrived warm but not hot. The hot dog was beef and a solid dog. The chili was delicious. The cheese was from a bag and never melted. I blame that on being pre-shredded and being placed on a warm chili dog. 3.8 out of 5 for the type of cheese, lack of onions & cheese (you gotta load up a chili cheese dog!) and the temperature it arrived to the table.

Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Prices were fair. Service was friendly. I'll give them another visit soon and maybe I'll take it to go - eat the fries in the car and microwave the Coney dog...
