Cafe Fresh Bagel — Restaurant in Needham

I work in needham and I usually order a pickup from cafe fresh bagel. Last Saturday I ordered 3 bagels , 2 of them were ham, egg and cheese with the addition of bacon , onions and tomatoes to mine. I went over there picked up the bagels, gave them to who they belonged to based on the labels. My label said BHEC + onions and tomatoes, when I opened it up there was no bacon, onions or tomatoes. So I called back and said I got the wrong order. The girl told me if I wanted to get the money back or get another , I said another. She told me to come, but I was tied at work so I said next week. She gave me the names of the people to talk to. Today I called, the customer service was really messed up. Got transferred to 3 different people, without anybody saying “hold on, I’ll transfer you” and every time I had to repeat myself . Then the last person I talked to by the name of James I suppose, told me he made the bagels and I should have opened the other orders to check (which would be my boss’s). I mentioned it to him that well what about the mistake of the labels because why would I think of checking if the labels were wrong to being with. I already gave the orders to who they belonged. At the end he told me, if you want I’ll give you your dollar something (which is not what I paid for the bagel btw). And working in a “Customer” service based company or field , that’s not how you handle things, I shouldn’t feel like it’s my fault when it’s clearly “YOUR” mistake. And it was not about the money, the girl from Saturday already told me to choose and I chose getting another bagel, I just couldn’t go get it at the same time. This is our favorite place for all things bagel, we make the trip to grab some of the yummiest bagels around. We have a diverse set of flavor pallets in my family and although most love the everything bagel, we also really enjoy the rye, spinach, salt, asiago , sesame, and try as we might have never found one that wasn't awesome. The bagels really are next level good, but you do not have to be a purest here, they have awesome cream cheese flavors, and the bacon scallion is in my family's opinion 'to die for" the lox and capers setup here is spot on as well. One of the best parts is all of their bagels beautifully pair as sandwiches. Our personal favorites are the bacon egg and cheese, but their chicken salad and blt are well worth stopping in to try. Coffee is better than average, but this is a bagel store, not a coffee store, I'm not knocking the coffee at all, I just think their bagels are the star of the show. They always have a cooler of soft drinks as well and often have day old bagels and house made bagel chips available to take home. Seating is limited, and this place can get busy but the wait is so worth it. We have been coming here for over two decades, and still see some of the old faces, and everyone is friendly and fast. They are all business, they will chat if there is time and the line isn't cued up behind you but they never hold up the line with idle small talk when it's busy. I stopped here as i saw the reviews online were great and wanted a bagel. I ordered bagels, cream cheese, and a bagel sandwich to go. I was given my bagels and cream cheese and told to wait for my sandwich. I waited about 10 minutes longer than everyone else (about 20 minutes total) because the woman taking care of me forgot that she had to give me the sandwich. This was because of their ordering system. The people helping customers at the front basically call out what they need to the guys in the back that are cooking and making sandwhiches. Once the sandwhiches are ready, it's the workers' responsibility to grab them and give them to the customers. They don't print tickets or have a way to track their orders. The lady who helped me was overwhelmed and just forgot about me. But I imagine this happens a lot. If they just changed their ordering system, they would be a lot more organized.

The bagels were amazing. They had a lot of different flavors. The sandwich was delicious and a large portion.
