I bought a new IPhone 13 that needed a new SIM card to be activated on the VZ 5G network. The employee sold me and installed a SIM card into the phone for $10 and informed me to call VZ to activate. I called VZ and they went through the process to try and activate my phone. However, VZ informed me that the SIM card sold to me was an older SIM card and could not be used with iPhone 13. I then went to the VZ Dedham corporate store where they set me up with the right SIM card at no cost. I went back to the Needham store to try and return the incorrect card and was told to come back another day when the manager is in because they don't know how to process a return. I called and finally spoke to the manager. I was told that the SIM card is unreturnable because I took it out of the packaging. I tried to explain that his employee never informed me of this when he incorrectly sold and installed for me the wrong SIM card. He says that is the VZ policy. I mentioned to him that his employees should inform customers of this before purchasing. His response was arrogant in telling me he "does a great job training his employees". All I can say is don't give your business to this establishment. It has an arrogant manager/owner, poorly trained employees, and bad...
Read moreWow - spin cycle with this crew. They messed up moving my child's number over to my account. We have had multiple lengthy (2+ hours) calls with customer service plus 4-5 visits to the store. Status: still screwed up. Verizon claims that my child's number was upgraded on her dad's account and then appears as if the line was canceled (rather than transferred to my account as requested). The phone upgrade is then due in full immediately. Their position: there is nothing they can do because the upgrade happened first and then the shift over to my account. These actions were supposed to be simultaneous. To move a phone line, VZW takes you thru a multi-day, 2-party confirmation process. I had to call customer support or visit the store a couple of times to get that completed. Returned to the store a month later with request that this be escalated to the area or district manager. Been waiting 2 weeks. No one even bothered to call. Not a priority for anyone there. I get left holding the bag for a mistake I didn't make and have wasted a half a week or so trying to fix. Consolation prize: apparently someone there was fired over the messy documentation process. Be careful dealing with these folks. Document...
Read moreThe store is NOT owned by Verizon. Verizon installed FIOS at my home and I discovered via tech support that the router they installed didn't support adding wireless extenders. Verizon support sent an order in for a router swap in this store and sent me an email with the order number and the router I was to get at the store. I showed it to the representative but he said it didn't show that in his system and I- not he- needed to call Verizon from the store. I was on the phone in the interminable interactive voice system while he put a screen protector on someone's iPhone maybe even his and hip hop music blared from speakers so I couldn't hear the prompts. I finally hung up and asked why he couldn't call. He couldn't help me. I said it was a Verizon issue and he was a Verizon employee. He said he wasn't and they(the store) are just "intermediaries" implying it is a franchise. I got upset and he said "he had been trying to help me" !! He did nothing. I walked out, took the original router, called tech support and they said the order in the system was correct. They apologized for the store and are shipping the replacement router and sending a note to customer service about the problem...
