They gave me pepper steak when there was no marinade listed and I can't eat too much pepper. They messed up my boyfriends order twice. The waitress wrote down the wrong item. Then they put the new correct item at the back of the queue so I was well done eating (pretty much only fries) by the time the new order came and the order that came was missing ingredients. The sour cream was pretty much frozen. No one apologized and we were still charged full price. They didn't even comp our drinks despite messing up fairly significantly. Also it wasn't nearly as busy on Saturday as it has been in the past so I was shocked by te terrible service. You should have someone trained to handle mistakes because the staff did not do it well and now I feel like I can't go to a restaurant anymore that I would frequent once a month. We’ve gone here twice recently and both times the food has been delicious! Everyone in our group was satisfied. It was also really nice eating outside, as there’s a number of tables in a dedicated outdoor space, so it makes for a nice dining option with Covid. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because both times the service outside was very, very slow. Tables weren’t cleared quickly, so we waited a while for a table that had been sitting empty for a bit. And then when we did sit, the service was really slow. Such a classic diner! I love their French toast and steak fries in particular. My kids always happy with the pancakes and grilled cheese. I occasionally bring work colleagues and they always enjoy the atmosphere and non-rushed vibe. A few mentioned they weren’t fans of the omelet (1 was egg white, one was straight off menu), but scrambled eggs were a hit.
