4/11/19 5:38pm 5 stars The place was poppin', but it was around dinner time, so that's expected. It looked like they were hosting a large professionals group. They all looked happy and pleased. Our server was friendly, quick, knowledgeable, and helpful for our questions to dispel our indecisiveness (for deciding between all the homemade sauces, she said just get them plain with cups of sauce, and, honestly, that ended up being the solidest advice because you'll see later). As pictured, I got the bone-in JP Signature Wings with their homemade sauce. Let me tell you, I love love love wings and I've been to a lot of places for wings. I can't remember the last time I've had wings as delicious as these. Because I got them plain, they were so beautifully crispy on the outside and juicy fall-off-the-bone on the inside. I'm back down-state and I'm literally looking at this picture with my mouth watering. I've thought about these wings for the past few days. And the sauce! Their homemade buffalo sauce was so good that I NEEDED to take some with back down-state. I asked our waitress if they sold it thinking that with how perfectly blended between being vinegary and creamy and spicy that they definitely sold bottles of those, and she came back and said that she could sell me the sauce but they'd be in the lidded cups. In any other situation, I would have found that normal, but I was completely shocked because that sauce is so effing good (that I thought they really need to sell these by the bottle). Anyway, I did buy two large cups of that buffalo sauce. Massive kudos to the chef. More about the venue: it looks like they have a stage where they have performances. We didn't get to catch a show, but I'm sure it'd be great. Overall, I'm incredibly impressed by the jaunty environment, the smart and personable service, and the food (oh man!!)! Thanks again, and I'll be sure to see you guys again when I'm back in town....
Read moreI want everyone to be aware of the HORRENDOUS experience my family and I just experienced at the Pit.
We got to the restaurant at about quarter to 6 this evening. We were the only people in the back eating area (and only a few others in the bar area). We ordered our food, got our appetizer, and things were going good. As more and more people started filing in, we were noticing a pattern... Those arriving after us were getting their food before us 🤔
Long story short, our waitress comes to the table to tell us "the kitchen lost your slip, should be only 5 more minutes". Alright. We waited about 30 minutes, what's 5 more? Well, 20 more minutes pass by, still, no food.
Finally, after the majority of people who arrived after us were already out the door with full bellies, we finish our food and are waiting on the bill. My father tells my mom, my boyfriend and myself to go wait outside. 10 minutes later, he comes to the car and says he spoke to the owner, and she did absolutely NOTHING. NO APOLOGY. NO MINOR DISCOUNT FOR THE WAIT. NOTHING.
I am absolutely beyond DISGUSTED with the way we were treated this evening. Honestly, being more open about possibly making an ordering mistake or even, I don't know, APOLOGIZING would have been well and good. But she just kept making excuse after excuse and that just doesn't cut it.
I used to go to the Pit about once a month for a burger date with the boyfriend, but NO MORE. I will NEVER step foot in that place again. I just wanted to make people aware of the way my family and I were treated at this establishment and hope it doesn't happen to...
Read moreThe burger had lots of flavor! Bartender/waitress was nice, polite, and quick. Place was clean and spacious. The reason why I did not give them a 5 star....the place was COLD there was also a cold draft coming from beyond the chained off area and they had the ceiling fans on blowing the cool air! We ended up moving to another table and it helpwd a little. We've heard rave reviews about their fries and onion rings & yes they are so delicious but we had to pay an additional $1.50 I think or $2.50 I dont remember which. I got a whopping 4 onion rings my husband got a hand full of fries?!😠 so NOT worth the money! I gues maybe if ordered alone you get more?idk now the burger was full of flavor but the onion ring on it just made it to tall. I could not eat it with it on so I had to remove it jist to eat my burger but in taking the onion ring off I also removed the cheese and roasted peppers as they were all inside the ring. I ended job just using a fork and eating it that way. My husband tried to get a bite oit of his but there was so much sauce it ran and oozed out everywhere, his jands got covered in the sauce and in the end he to ate his like I did. Oh and one glass of pop was $2.50! Please sadly we most likely wont go back because of the prices (burger was fine priced but all the sides were what I consider outrageous. Hense the 4 star...
