“Soul” food without the soul. I have New Orleans roots, I know how to season food. I ordered chicken wings, Mac/cheese, and cabbage. My daughter ordered chicken wings,Spanish rice, and collard greens. Everything was bland! There was no taste to ANYTHING! Nothing was seasoned! It was the blandest, most unenjoyable meal I’ve ever had from a black owned restaurant. Maybe they have a different ethnic group in the kitchen! ShopRite fried chicken is better seasoned than what I couldn’t bring myself to finish eating from Brewton’s. I had such high expectations, thinking I was about to get the “itis” after finishing my dinner. I couldn’t finish. I wouldn’t finish, I couldn’t torture myself anymore with unseasoned food. Even their brand of sodas are bland !! How Sway?! The other reviewers that gave this restaurant 5 stars never had true Soul food! First time and last time going here. If you enjoy unseasoned food, this is the place for you, you won’t be disappointed!

You were closed, I couldn’t get a refund, and no worries, you will not get any more of my money. The food went in the garbage.  I have a better more fulfilling business of my own plus other ventures, don’t want or need another one especially a restaurant. Plus, I’m not the only reviewer that stated your food is under seasoned. We all can’t be wrong!!! So, on that note if there’s anyone who would like to know a good soul food restaurant that will tantalize your pallet hit me up, I won’t steer you wrong!! I’ve had a lot of pancakes before, but Brewton’s Restaurant has the best damn pancakes I’ve ever eaten. They weren’t spongy, like a lot of other diners and chain restaurants, they were light, moist, and packed with natural favors. Instead of having to douce them in syrup to taste anything, I didn’t even want to add any for fear that I might drown out the already wonderful flavors packed into the plain pancakes.

The sausages and bacon were mind blowing as well. Not only was I completely shocked as to how amazingly flavorful they were, but it felt as though it was my first time really trying those foods. Typically bacon simply tastes like salty fat with a hint of meat flavoring. My mind was blown when instead I found the extremely ambrosial taste of REAL meat that hadn’t been frozen and thawed a million times over.

It’s safe to say that I will most definitely be back to dine again in this friendly establishment where the staff immediately makes you feel at home with both their “down-home cooking” and loving atmosphere. Thank you for such a life changing and mind blowing experience. Absolutely deserving of way more...

Best soul food in town. The wife and I were visiting the Jersey shore from NYC and decided to this spot out as well. Food was incredible. Shrimp and wings, flavorful and crunchy, real baked Mac and cheese no Kraft BS. She had the turkey Club and fries, it was massive and only $8!

Family owned business and the people are so cool. The grandpa was so proud of his grandson, very professional and kind service. A wild Karen walked in furious that a black owned soul food spot didn’t serve Baked Potato casserole and wouldn’t allow her to taste test the bread.

My only criticism would be I didn’t personally enjoy the green beans, to me they tasted canned. Besides that I would definitely return and I hope they...
