MJ's Restaurant Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Neptune Township

I'm typically not a consumer who writes reviews, whether they be good or bad, after frequenting an establishment. Unfortunately,  I had such an unpleasant experience at this restaurant on Monday, September 6, 2021, that I was compelled to write a review now. My guest and I decided on MJ's Restaurant at the Neptune location for an early dinner to conduct our business meeting. The beginning of our time at this restaurant went just fine. Our server, Krysta, was very attentive and professional. We did not encounter any problems with anyone as my guest and I were enjoying our time out in this sports bar. I am an attorney by trade so as a professional, I always carry myself well and act accordingly. So, with being in a sports bar and not a library, it is completely normal and somewhat necessary to speak louder than one typically would in any other setting in order to be heard. Being in a sports bar it is my understanding that the crowd tends to be a bit louder because that is the culture. This is why I am still confused today as to why "Grant" the bartender working on September 6th decided to target my table in such a rude manner about "being too loud". I felt extremely uncomfortable and targeted by Grant. He was very abrasive and aggressive when he approached my table to essentially tell us to shut up. My guest and I had no issues with other staff or other patrons. However, Grant felt compllelled, for whatever reason, to angrily approach us and spew his demand at us. I was completely put off by Grant's display of unprofessionalism and by him singling us out without cause. A very enjoyable evening out turned completely sour all due to Grant's distasteful behavior. I truly hope that Grant sees this review and takes an inside look at himself. He needs to exhibit a better demeanor to ALL guests equally and not just to some who he thinks deserve professionalism...

So this would have been a 4 or 5 star review because the food was good and the staff was attentive. However, as my husband, son and I walked away from our table we left my son's sippy cup. We got home (we live around the corner) and I realized we left the cup. So I called the restaurant to see if they had it (at this point no more then 10 minutes have past since we left. It's a large blue sippy cup so whoever cleaned our table wouldn't have missed it). The hostess answers and when I asked her about the cup (as we had just been there) she said "yes, someone did bring it up to the front, let me just make sure we have it and it didn't get thrown out." I waited on hold and she came back on the phone and told me they actually didn't have the cup. I asked if they didn't have it, or if it was thrown out. She told me they threw it out. We were not gone more then 10 minutes!! I would understand if this was hours later or the next day. But 10 minutes!?!? Also to lie to me and say I didn't leave it and then tell me the truth when I caught her in the lie. Unfortunately because of this we won't be going back again. A shame too.

I paid 14.99 for a Ruben sandwich and gave details how I preferred it. The sandwich which suppose to have corn beef and pastrami. The sandwich had no pastrami and hard corn beef. What a waste of money I ordered no sauerkraut and only wanted extra Mayo, little mustard and tomatoes. Didn’t get none of these things on my 15$ sandwich and no pastrami at all. I did see the reviews and being new in this area I tried it and all I can say is I must have ordered the bottom of the Barrel this was absolutely horrid. Now let me make a correction on the on all I got to say. There is one more thing I would like to say: NEVER AGAIN ME. I ordered a Salmon dinner for my daughter whose at work. I’ll see how she like her dinner but looking from the outside in that too looks like it was rush down and dryer out. I almost know this will be horrid as well. I call the Resturant and of course the manager wasn’t there. Now by any chance the manager sees this review I would like to say “Sir please give me my $15.00 back. I really think mjs is breaking some came of law or laws? ABSOLUTELY HORRID!!! And never again me with this horrible...
