I am very picky when it comes to pizza or any Italian food for that matter.I grew up on Sicilian/Italian food! Italy at its finest! Nothings ever better than your grandma or parentās food right? Well a lot of restaurants claim that the Italian food they make here is Authentic however thatās never the case. I have yet to find anything close to home cooked Real Italian food. Especially a Pizza. Itās a joke. 97 percent of the time I make my own but today I was running around trying to get some things done and drove past Mamas Ciminoās Pizza . I seen Pizza by the slice so I turned around to give it a try. Once I walked in we were greeted by 2 people. Hispanic guy as the Cook and Who I believe Pierto maybe the owner. Excuse me if I spelled that wrong. The place was small but perfect for me anyway! This establishment was not dirty at all. These few bad reviews I read make no sense. Again the two men were polite and the place was clean! I ordered two slice meal and the Pizza was great. The consistency of the dough was awesome. Not overly thick and on point. I didnāt have an issue with the sauce. Youāre not supposed to over crowd your pizza with Marinara sauce anyways. Whatās the point of masking the taste of your pizza. You need to be able to taste all the ingredients. Given people have their own opinion and by all means have a right to express it but I think if you donāt have nothing nice to say then donāt say it at all. Sounds like these people donāt know what real pizza is. If they prefer to go to little Caesar pizza and chuckle cheese. Those are the two most nastiest places on earth and sad to say they call their self a pizza place. Itās fake pizza for kids with toys. Come on now. If you like trash well have fun with that one. Donāt be sad when your sitting on the toilet with the choroās all night. Or maybe you just have a bad taste in your mouth towards someone at this establishment. Who knows and who cares. But with all that said to anyone who wants to know how this pizza is, ITS GOOD if you know pizza that is. Yes some things are pricy but what do you expect? Groceries these days are expensive. Itās not half as bad as half these places out here. Anyhow thumbs up Ciminoās! Keep doing you and ignore the negative because itās the very few that donāt understand or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMan, I wasn't expecting this. It was an early-evening whim to get a pizza, discovered there was a place right across from my hotel. Being from NY originally, I'm always skeptical about pizza not from the area but it looked good so I took a shot.
I'd take this pizza all week long and twice on Sunday. It isn't exactly my preferred NYC style, but it's delicious and hold true to more Western NY style, and waaay better than where I live now (Maine). The dough is great, it gets a nice crispy bottom, with a moderately thin base. It has a great bite, and they don't skimp on the toppings. The crust is on the thin side (meaning sauce and toppings come close to the edge), which I LOVE.
I ordered a bacon, onion and mushroom pizza (you have to try it, bacon for the salty, porky goodness, roasted onions give it sweetness and crunch, and mushrooms for umami, trust me, it'll change your life). Great proportions, great sauce.
One minor thing that doesn't change a thing for me, but I don't prefer the hatch-cut. I like a traditional triangle cut, but like I said it doesn't change a thing. I'm sure they'd cut it in a triangle if you want it.
And the gentleman making the pizza ( I assume the owner) was very friendly and waved hello and goodbye. I also assume it was his daughter working the register who was very nice as well. And although I'm in a very unknown place (first time in Vegas) I felt like I was in my home town pizzeria growing up, and I haven't felt that since I left home.
11/10 would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA family owned restaurant, super friendly senior couple owns this restaurant. Once I wanted to go to crazy pita in Southland mall but unfortunately it was closed and they hadn't even updated it on Google or Yelp so I googled nearby open restaurants and I found La Bocce Cafe. Well technically it isn't a cafe, it's more like a restaurant owned by two amazing couple. I ordered chicken wings because they cook fast and I was hungry and from the moment I have had those wings I've fell in love with that place. It is a decent size restaurant, most of the times it is empty because of the location and mostly people order take outs. I prefer going and sitting there since it is quite and I like the owners. They have many items in their menu, I have personally tried the chicken fingers, chicken wings and the Philly cheese steak. All of them were great, the owner is an amazing cook. My personal favorite are the chicken the chicken wings. Overall for the amazing customer service, super friendly owners that always welcomes me, great food, average seating area, good parking space and also the food is Halal, I'd give them a sold 5 star. I am there regular customer now, you should try it out too. Support local...
