SOPRIS — Restaurant in Nevada

Here we go again world. I started picking up loads in Elko Nevada and in that area also became a hotshot driver driving back home today I got a craving for Mexican food and I remembered that a friend of mine said he ate at Sopris which is located inside Four Jack Casino. And told me it was really good food. So I called them up around 9:06ish. I found out that they close at 10 pm little less than an hour. A young lady picked up and I started to speak when I found out my call had connected to my truck's Bluetooth and couldn't hear her. I mentioned to her about a Togo order in the mists. When I figured out what was going on I hung up and called right away back. After numerous calls made by me, I got the hint that they didn't want to take any orders passed 9 o'clock when it clearly says on their website that I close at 10 pm. By the time I started to gather all these screenshots which will be tagged in this review and started writing about my experience with Sopris employees. I missed the timeframe to order real food from the dessert room in Cactus Pete's instead of Subway no offense. Disappointed, It wouldn't take almost an hour to make a burrito. In these kinds of situations, the waiter would have been tipped very well under my food order. I always tip well under these circumstances because I've been there and done that. Well, now I am going to order myself a sub... Just to make sure everyone understands that this has nothing to do with Sopris food quality or business professionalism. It has to do with the staff, especially the first in line which are the hostess and waiters. I hope that next time I swing by I can taste their food which I know will hit the spot. UPDATED THE STATUS OF THIS RESTAURANT!!. Last time I stated about the service and how I wanted to taste the food there. WELL LET ME TELL YOU! Just like I predicted. The food was phenomenal! Yes, so great that I forgot to take pictures. I ordered the Carne Asada plate with corn tortillas 🤤😋 everything about it was great, especially the meat. I know that whoever decides to order the specific carne asada meat knows what they are doing because you cannot just order whichever kind of beef and slap it on a dish and call it a carne asada plate. Skirt meat!! Ladies and gentlemen 👌🏼 when you take the first bite of the meat it melts in your mouth, unlike other types of beef where it is tough to chew and your jaw is about to retire. Also, the atmosphere and the staff entering the building were great! Changing my review stars from 1 to 4 stars 🌟 I can't wait to taste more on this menu. I will definitely be coming...

I’ve eaten here 3 days in a row. I’m actually staying at a different hotel but I heard the food was great and I’m frustrated with the Desert Room in the other hotel so I decided to give Sophia a try. I’m so glad I did! The salads are fresh, the burgers are very good, and the enchiladas are out of this world. They are super yummy! The beans were tasty, however the Spanish rice tasted burnt. The waitress told the cook and she returned with some rice with a reddish tint but zero flavor. I imagine he just took some rice and splashed a little tomato sauce in them which produced some tasteless rice. That is my only complaint. I’m sure their Spanish rice is very good, just not the day I went. I returned a third day for more enchiladas. Did I mention how yummy they are? Wonderful find. We go to Jackpot often and always spend an hour or two at the Four Jack’s Hotel and Casino. This time we finally saw light in the restaurant and peeked in for a hopeful look. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who shared the menu with us.

Lots of choices and we were hopeful. It was clear they spent a lot of time fixing the old place up and it was brightly lit, clean and inviting.

We went back three times and each time was delicious. The cook and servers were very willing to accommodate my vegetarian wishes and I was never disappointed. My husband is a huge eater and a carnivore and he too was very happy with the food.

In the photos you will find they have a very nice website. The hotel does not share this info when you call them; I tried.
