This is the quintessential old school donut shop experience. Ma's donuts was the donut shop of my childhood. I left the area a long time ago, and on a trip up with my family I was crushed to hear they had closed several years ago. However on this trip we were delighted to hear that the family of the original owners had reopened with a new name. With great anticipation, my daughter and wife got up early and got some donuts. I am here to say that the new owners have successfully duplicated their grandparents recipe, even if someone stole the name. They've been making them for over 50 years. They were right, the donuts were amazing, and it was totally worth the trip.
