Overhyped, overpriced, food is just okay. (The hash is fantastic though)
Our server was wonderful so its definitely not her fault (gave the second star just for her service.) However, it took almost 40 minutes for our food to come out when the restaurant wasn't busy at all. At first we thought this was a good sign, as this told us everything was made to order.
Unfortunately my poached eggs were so severely undercooked that there was still clear liquid egg whites. I love a good runny egg but that was dangerously underdone. The hollandaise was oddly sweet and mostly flavorless. The HASH was GREAT. My poor partner's biscuits and gravy were a little sad looking, it was one oily biscuit cut in half with a drizzle of thin gravy over top. He described it as bland, greasy, and weird and his biscuit was also undercooked in the middle. I tried the sausage and it genuinely tasted like nothing. Even my coffee, was basically straight water with the faint essence of coffee flavor and a little color. One drop of half and half and it looked like tan milk.
We were really excited to try this place because it's close to home and the food looked really great but we were disappointed.
I'm assuming it's just an off day or that it's one of those uppity places with it's head is up it's own butt where the avo toast and the insane experimental, deep fried, cereal crusted, stuffed french toasts are great and everything else is just meh. But like an insult to an injury the price really sealed this as a negative experience. Yes we were fully aware they upcharge for every add on, but my only add on was the hash. My partner had no add on. And we each got ONE coffee. Somehow this was $42 before the tip.
If they're going to compete with all the other breakfast and lunch spots (of which there are SEVERAL) they need to do some serious work. ●Shorten turnaround time by getting food out in a reasonable amount of time. ●Master. The. Basics. Stop worrying about the next experimental dessert for breakfast and start with how to properly cook an egg. ●Get competitive with the prices. Yes we can tell you think you're worth it but if you can't cook people won't pay that price. They'll go up the road and pay $2-$5 less per plate and any of the other spots that are within...

A breath of fresh air resuscitating the hospitality industry. The hostess was very friendly and engaging. I appreciated the transparency with the wait time (40mins), and their electronic tracking system that provides a link to your cellphone- allowing you to monitor your progress in “line”.
The wait time was accurate. When I returned to the restaurant after receiving the text alert, I was promptly seated and a waitress arrived within a few minutes. The establishment was bustling, but there was efficient crowd management, and every member of the waitstaff I observed had a positive disposition.
As a new customer, the waitress did an excellent job clarifying the menu options and making suggestions.
My food was served timely, and at the desired temperature. The atmosphere is inviting, but the compact layout may make you feel a bit snug depending on the number of guests in your party.
THE FOOD:
I ordered the Maple Bacon Waffle, Portuguese Hash, and a caramel iced coffee with oat milk. The waffle was plated nicely and lived up to its visual allure. The taste is savory and sweet with a nice balance of textures. The maple flavor was subtle, but present. I appreciated the spreadable butter and crispy bacon garnish, because the bacon inside the waffle was a bit chewy.
The Portuguese hash was very good, but I found the ratio of Chorizo to potato unbalanced as my fork came up empty when seeking a potato to add to the remaining meat.
The Iced coffee was made to my exact specifications; I tasted the additional caramel while still being able to enjoy the coffee taste. Although not request, the oat milk on the side was a pleasant surprise.
THE VALUE:
Excellent customer service, good quality ingredients, and delectable bites. The price points are slightly above average for similar venues, but worth every penny.
Note: I was presented with a receipt that had a QR code to scan for payment. I found this to be very convenient, and hope to see this option at other...
Read moreOn 1/27 I went in for breakfast with my family. On our way in my son was opening the door and the host came flying out chasing after a guest who left a coloring book behind. As she pushed the door open almost hitting my 11 year old she looked at us and kept walking. When we came inside she followed and said “four?” No apology no nothing. Our server came over soon after we sat couldn’t tell you her name because she never greeted us, I could hardly hear her speak but she did sound as if she was about to pee her pants from being so nervous talking to people. We ordered eggs Benny, a Greek omelet each kid had a pancake , 2 sides of bacon and a side of sausage links. Our food came out all except my omelet, our server said it was coming right out.the only item I had , side of sausage falls onto the floor I pick it up and ask her to take the plate no offer for a new side from her. 5 minutes later she came over and informed me that it had to be recooked because they made it wrong. So I sat and watched my family eat. Not sure why she didn’t tell us about the mistake to begin with. No worries things happen, but would have been nice to know originally. My omlet came out and it was a bland flap of eggs with the fillings just shoved in between the two flaps, spinach was hardly cooked and the feta cheese was cold, you’d think it be warm sitting inside warm eggs but no the kitchen just tossed it together you could tell . She never came back over to ask me how my meal was, no apology for the long wait. I have worked in this industry for over 19 years I was a server and I’ve also worked every management position there is all the tell tale signs of a bad experience were there yet no one seemed to care, this was not proper service. No manager or supervisor came over $63 wasted. Oh and did I mention this was my birthday breakfast that my mother was treating me to. What a great...
