Catfish King Restaurant — Restaurant in New Boston

Worst catfish EVER!!! Out of 4 other choices, I decided to eat here on the way back to Dallas from a business trip with two other people. My catfish lunch came out within 5 minutes. The only thing hot was the beans. Everything else was lukewarm like it was just sitting there waiting for me to order it. The catfish pieces were TINY. I was hungry so I didn't complain...until I saw the amount of food my coworkers got when their food came out NICE AND HOT, albeit 15 minutes later. Three different plates of food, but only my catfish plate was the only one that was severely and noticeably lacking substance. When my coworker asked one of the staff why my pieces were so small, he replied that the distributor cut the pieces into smaller sizes. B.S.!!!!! They take a regular size catfish filet, then cut it in half, then cut that piece in half and serve a third of a third of fish for $7.00 and call it a 3 piece meal? I had to fill up on the beans and fries because my catfish was gone in 5 minutes. On TOP OF THAT, my stomach started hurting afterward and it was a VERY uncomfortable 2.5 hour drive back to Dallas. I was craving fish for dinner so decided to give this restaurant a try. They have a drive-thru. I was behind another gentleman for about 12 minutes before I got to pull up to the window. I was at the window for another 10 minutes. I have the time logged on my phone. I had ordered a five piece meal with French fries, hush puppies, and a medium drink. This cost me $14.68. I made it home before I discovered that they had not given me my drink because it had been a long day and my mind was in about 14 different places. When I called to speak to the manager all I was told was that they were not a "fast food" restaurant. I asked what he considered a reasonable time to be for a vehicle through their drive-thru and was told 10 minutes. I asked him if he agreed with me that over 20 minutes was ridiculous and he said yes. I told him it was not worth the return trip to have cold fish with a drink. Ok first the manager needs to lose the attitude cause the only business they get is the interstate travelers. Locals know this place all too well. Never the same employees. The floor needed cleaning long ago, when the vending machine syrup covered it . It's still sticky. Clean the floor. Clean under the vending machine, the puddle of syrup is still under it. Clean the bathroom it is sickening. Quit serving fish sticks and charging fish fillet prices. When you did away with the salad bar you didn't lower your price, people still talk about this. This would be the perfect place for a fish restaurant. Hint..go to Mt Pleasant TX Catfish King and see how they run it there.
