Petty and cheap business practices. Will not cut special chipped keys because I had my own blanks to be cut and did not buy from them. Wanted to sell me their knock off keys at 600-700% markup which they then charge to program. From now on, I will go elsewhere since the "Un-Helpful hardware place" is now stingy and petty. All I needed was 2 blanks cut to match a broken original. And you wouldn't even do that........ pitiful. Got them done at the dealer down the road. I don't know about the other stores but New Boston Ace Hardware apparently makes enough to turn away work. For this, the business automatically gets an F. You are in business to serve and meet the needs of customers. You forgot that somewhere back there.

I don't want or care to talk to probably the same person I dealt with in the store. This has nothing to do with quality or compatability and yes it's quite inconvenient to waste my time thinking Ace would provide a simple service without acting petty. It was stated in the store that all I needed was to have they blanks cut. NOT programmed. I have my own programmer that actually programs the keys correctly. Not add on as a clone or additional key. No, this is simply a matter of pettyness and greed. I bought 2 of my own at a great discount compaired to your single store key. Since I didn't buy it from you but you do cut keys of all kinds, greed took over that you didn't get to profit from my situation. And then pettyness came about when I didn't buy from you so you refused a basic service. Similar to someone buying a car at one dealership then being refused a simple service like an oil change at another because the car was purchased at another dealer. Yea..... it's that stupid when placed in...
Read moreI was initially very happy about our new ACE hardware store. I shop there almost weekly. When the store first opened, I gave a 5 star rating. Why? The store is extremity well stocked, and remains that way. The staff is very well trained, and their desire to be of help is critical to a stores success. In the last couple of months I have begun to notice a few small issues. I went to ACE to purchase a hammer. I thought the price seemed a little excessive, so I decided to do some comparison shopping. I picked a hammer with the fiberglass handle, wrote down the price, and shopping I went. I discovered a like hammer at Walmart, and was shocked to find the hammer over $5.00 cheaper. Over $6.00 less at Harbor Freight. I began computer shopping on purchases at that point. Without fail, ACE is the more expensive store to shop. However to be fair, with the higher price comes usually great employee assistance, and rapid check out. Recently I was greated at the door and asked if I needed assistance. I replied in the affirmitive. Before he and I made three steps, we were stopped by a lady needing help. The gentleman without saying a word, took off with the lady. Not to long ago I glanced down an isle, where I saw two employees engaged in a back rub. When the male saw me, he quickly moved away. Do these types of actions suggest a break down in the professionalism that keeps me going back time and again? I guess only time will tell. Be cause of overpriced items, and a few employee infractions, I lowered my rating to a three. Despite lowering the rating, I will probably continue to shop at ACE. Have...
Read moreI wanted to take a couple of minutes to write up a review for this Ace Hardware location. Businesses are businesses and it's the staff that makes all the difference. I was browsing around, looking for parts to conjure a hardware solution for a problem. Dee, and older gentleman (who I learned has lived in the area most of his life!) asked if I needed help. Said I was looking for a kind of part, he inquired further as to what I was doing. After explaining, he ran all over the store with me, trying different parts and solutions. I ended up buying a 10 foot piece of pipe, which he graciously offered to cut into thirds for me. He made some other suggestions ("don't want to get in your business, though") that were extremely helpful. Probably some of the best customer service I've ever received in my life. Thank you, Dee, for taking so much of your time help me work...
