Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in New Braunfels

Yesterday (8/9/23) my kiddo and I were fortunate enough to finally check out our local donut shop. We had been once, but never gone inside. The atmosphere was so nice. It was relaxed and laid back. The complete opposite of other places. We met three wonderful staff members who were incredibly nice and welcoming. I truly felt like we had made new friends when we left. Oh, let's talk about the visual appeal of looking at a wall of donuts of every kind. It is amazing. We came around the corner to see and my eyes were in heaven. So beautiful. The donuts were amazing. We went drive thru. Lady was not even close to welcoming/friendly; kids asked for colored donut, they didn't have-- which is understandable, but she was just like "no, what else." Once we ordered our six donuts (she wrote nothing down); paid and she handed us a small long box. The 6 donuts were shoved sideways tightly into this box. We did not get sprinkles on any of them though we ordered white sprinkles and chocolate sprinkles. The frosting on the chocolate looked either old or over melted. We have stopped by here multiple times to pick-up kolaches and donuts for our team and we have all been disappointed each time. Kolaches are always mostly bread and have a massive air pocket/void inside. We just toss the bread and eat the tiny sausage inside. The donuts are always iced cold. The Shipley team over on Tri-County and I-35 are amazing and the Kolaches and donuts are always hot and filling. Will be making the extra drive over there...
