China 88 — Restaurant in New Bremen

We’ve been eating at this location for the last 6 years. Never had a issue, even with the new ownership. We order the other night. The sauce on my beef and mushrooms tasted weird. Our food was actually cold and it’s always still hot when we get home. Then we ordered crab Rangoons. There was a thin layer on it like butter. It was basically fried wonton only. Then our shrimp eggs rolls had like no shrimp but 1 piece and we paid extra for them too. This was a bit disappointing considering we spent $40 dollars. Unfortunately doesn’t make us want to return...

I cannot believe that this restaurant received so many good reviews. People in this area must not know what good Chinese food is like. No sauce with the dumplings, mushy egg rolls, no spice in the General Tso's chicken, flavorless wonton soup and fried rice was nothing but white rice with a sprinkling of peas and carrots. Who makes fried rice with no egg??? If you know what Chinese food should taste like...

We found out there was new ownership and decided to try it out. Everthing was very good! A total turnaround from before. We got the Sesame Chicken, General Tso Chicken and Fries Dumplings. The food was fresh, flavor was great and the staff were very nice. Excited to start...
