Olde 37 Patio & Grill — Restaurant in New Fairfield

This is my favorite spot for food in the summer! Here's a tip: IF GOOGLE/YELP SAYS IT IS CLOSED, CALL TO CONFIRM! Yelp/google isn't always correct, and I'd hate for you to miss out on the spot. Carl is an amazing, friendly guy who knows how to make a mean burger. The sweet potato fries are my favorite because they're not greasy, but perfectly baked/crisp. I've tried several burgers, a few hot dogs, and the chili (not all at once!). I liked the chili, but I'm more of a burger person. My friend on the other hand, a self-proclaimed chili connoisseur, said it was fantastic. I love that he uses and sells all local foods including some fun off-brand sodas. Initially pulled in across the street for a quick slice of pizza, looked up to see the red building advertising burgers and fries. I said screw it I'm going over there. Boy am I glad I did, was met by a young man and another gentleman named Carl. Turns out I knew Carl from years prior at wonderful little spot called the Buttonwood Cafe,where the food was also delicious. After some catching up I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger,couldn't eat it fast enough,fries were on point just the right amount of seasoning and even stayed crispy an hour later finishing the last of them. Don't skip out on the "olde 37 sauce" it's like a cross between Russian dressing and pepper sauce on steroids. Terrible!! The man cooking did nothing but complain about me using the online menu. He seemed upset about me ordering $95 worth of food. He actually made snarky comment about me ordering 30 milkshakes, while I only ordered three. I had to wait 1:15 hrs to get my order. Very uncomfortable to hear comments about my order from behind the counter as I waited. I could the young was uncomfortable. Burgers were dry. I watch him microwave frozen rolls. I question the cleanliness of the kitchen. I watched him put my hamburger buns on the dirty table next the microwave. Fries were soggy.
