Sunday, 6:45PM, not real busy

The Seven Sports Bar's inside and outside are so inviting and we wanted to love this place. It's an old small renovated factory/mill with high ceilings, flat screen everywhere to watch your favorite team. There is restaurant seating including booths and tables. The large bar appeared well stocked but only a few taps. It has adequate seating including hightop tables and chairs. Every seat has a great view to see the game. There even a nice patio. Which was close because of the weather.

The restaurant wasn't busy but we noticed plenty of servers walking around, unlike most restaurants. The menu is mostly bar food with some flair and could satisfy all diners. Most notable are crab soups, crab dishes, fish and meats including daily and monthly specials.

The waiter was kind enough but misses when it comes to attention to detail. Our app was Irish Brussel Sprouts which was a decent portion prepared in a small cast iron pan and pretty good, flash fried with craisins and walnuts with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. ** That's all the good.

My wife ordered a mushroom sandwich with spinach and red pepper on focaccia bread* with a choice of side(s). I put the s because the waiter couldn't articulate if you got one or two so she requested homemade chips and coleslaw. I opted out of the salad with salmon and went with the lumb crab meat melt grilled cheese** with homemade chips. Since they have a famous crab cake I figured the GC would be a great alternative. 10 minutes mins later, the waiter came back and said they we outta focaccia bread. She was fine, I'll eat it without. The sandwiches were delivered by a nice enough chap. I looked at mine and noticed two things. First there was no pizzazz, the lump crabmeat cheese melt looked like a grilled cheese I could make at home and the chips were outta a bag (No notice!) And no coleslaw. The waiter stopped back and I said to him, what happen? Did they run outta fresh chip. Oh yeah, I saw them just open a bag. Wow! He walked away, figuring he was getting the coleslaw. Nope, he stopped back after 10 mins and I said, do we get coleslaw? He said, you only get one side but do you want some coleslaw, figuring he would just give us that for the one/two side mix up and the not so fresh chips.

*Dear Seven, lucky you are temporarily the only game in town, but the way the area is growing it won't be long. If you advertise "fresh chip" and that's one of your specialties, even if it's Sunday tell your kitchen staff not to be lazy and be on their game everyday. Description, presentation and quality not to mention value, are what returning customers are looking for.

Maybe dress up the grilled cheese by sitting the two half on top of each other showing the interior and some crab, add a garnish like a pickle, without saying, fresh chips and a small cup of slaw. (Your slaw sucked, pulling slice cabbage out of a bag and adding cheap mayo doesn't constitute, coleslaw. Zero flavors, if you can't make a dressing use a good commercial coleslaw dressing.)

Try adding some garlic and oil to the spinach before adding it to a sandwich. If the little things are a problem, what do you think happens to the big things. I will check back in 3-4 months to see if any improvements have been...

After living just 5 mi away for the last 7 years, we were invited for drinks and dinner with some friends that are regulars. The last two years have been a bit of a washout so we said sure. The place was friendly, the staff was attentive and entertaining. The mixed drinks were well prepared without skimping on alcohol. The wings were decent size and with the addition of their weekly special sauce were quite nice. Not the best that I've ever had but most places wings are just downright horrible. So seven sports bar did a good job on their wings all in all. I had the tuna BLT which was very good on a brioche bun. The tuna steak was almost an inch thick and came out medium rare as ordered and was very filling. Everybody else at the table was very happy with what they ordered, The portion sizes where generous and tasty. So after setting there for several hours and eating and drinking our bill was around $100 which considering the times was very reasonable and the number of mixed drinks that we ordered. We will be back and hey we're going back this week because we...

Downgrading my original 5-star review after repeated disappointments. I'm certainly going to visit less often. Something changed with this restaurant.

Today was an example: Cream of crab soup was grainy and the cream broke. My ribs were so far past overcooked and re-reheated that they tasted bland and mushy. Almost like the meat was boiled.

My son's sliders; one had a normal portion of burger, the other burger patty was 1/3 the size.

On the plus side, onion rings are great as always.

It's shameful that the cooks think it's ok to let food of this quality leave the kitchen. The recipes are good and I've always liked the creative seasonal menu rotation. Execution has fallen short. Certainly a lack of quality oversight. If the restaurant can't be bothered to put out a product they're proud of, then I can't be...

The place itself was nice, we went on St. Patrick's day so it was very busy and crowded. Not too long of a wait for 2 people, but our burgers were cooked unevenly and my husband said his had a fishy taste. The chips tasted burnt and no salt. The drinks arent bad, service was fast but since it was busy we had to ask for water twice. We did get the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee for dessert, which was great BTW But after all is said and done, we'd still return.

Food is remarkable. Service is good. Lots of options and plenty of TVs for whatever sport is in season. Great local spot with lots of regulars. I only wish they would expand their steak selection with something besides filet. Strip steak? Flat iron? Didn't care for the fake cheese on the tacos... But loved that I can get all flats when I get wings.
