Peppe's Pizza & Grill — Restaurant in New Hanover Township

We stopped in for my boyfriends birthday on Saturday 8/5. We were seated super quick in a side room, which was on the warmer side. Our waitress greeted us but we didn't see much of her the whole night. We weren't checked on when our food came out or even for refils etc. We were told she had a table outside....mind you that was like the opposite side of the building. She forgot dipping sauces and dressings. We had to wave down bus boys and other servers for those items. Which they were super helpful...but... I wish she would have been around. She was an older lady and I felt like she was overwhelmed. I've worked in food service/management for over 15 years. From the time we sat down it took about 1 hour to get our main course. Which I felt was a long time due to the restaurant clearing out, it was about 8 pm. The server wasn't super friendly when I asked if they did anything or even sang for birthdays. I know some places do, but I was told if I wanted to buy a piece of pie or cake she could stick a candle in it...... I wasnt looking for anything free just maybe a little something to make it special. She seemed annoyed that I even asked. Our meals were good but the side salads that come with the meals were terrible. This is the second we have dined in and the first time we had some issues with a male server disappearing and not table checking. I understand staffing issues but I feel like it's super important to teach your servers or have management to do table touches. I'm not sure how soon we will be returning, but I think we will give it one more shot eventually. The food was great but service was serverly lacking. Our family went last night and I ordered a cheeseburger which made me nauseous all night and into the morning. When I smelled the burger patty it was rancid. I asked to see the manager and was told that they had "just left." We asked the server to smell it but the individual accidently dropped the piece on the floor as they brought it to their nose. We were told that the head chef smelled it in the kitchen and said it was perfectly fine. Our entire table, and my stomach, disagree 100%.

The calzone was very thin and soggy with grease/oil and inedible. No one even asked why it was eaten.

Our daughter ordered Chicken Saltimbocca, but was given veal parmigiano. We told the server it was wrong and were told that it was correct as thatbis how theu made it, and that it was what the kitchen put with the order. We didn't want to argue so our daughter just ate it since she initially thought it was Chicken parm (which she loves) and enjoyed it. Later, her Chicken Saltimbocca came out, with an apology and a "you were right."

None of the meals came with the sauces they were supposed to so we had to ask for them.

Our other daughter said the grilled chicken Caesar wrap was good.

Yesterday me and my wife went to this restaurant for the first time. We never been here before so we didn’t know we would be targeted because of our skin color, the sad part about this is I’m half white but they don’t look at me like that. Instead the employees were very rude from the beginning, saying little ignorant comments under their breath while we was waiting for our food. I wanted to say something to them so bad but I realized they are ignorant unappreciated children who been raised by trash parents. If your Spanish or Black DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! This restaurant should change they name to only whites allowed only. This family restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. I let a lot of disrespectful comments & behavior go yesterday because of the area I was in but best believe if they was around my area they would have never behaved like that they would have known better. If you support this restaurant than you support hate against ALL colors except for whites & you should be a shame of yourself as a person.

P.S the only reason why this place has good reviews is because they are all WHITE people who hate color people and Spanish people who...
