I love the brunch boxes at Brueggers and normally it's an awesome treat for my team on a busy day. TWICE this week I ordered a brunch box through the app and twice this week it was NOT EVEN STARTED when I arrived 10+ minutes AFTER the scheduled time. Both times the team acted like it was out of their control, though the store was not even busy. Today I watched as the manger hid in the back allowing her employees to repeat their same lines, "It's not their fault, it's the apps fault" and that "they will start my brunch box after they fill the other orders".
The manager did not step in to help the line or ask the team to start my order since it was well after the promised time. She only came up after I asked them to refund me. She took no accountability and there was no sense of urgency or understanding. She blamed everything on the app as if she has no control or ability to pause the app, send a message to the customer or change the wait time. I understand that staffing is tough, but this is unexcetable behavior from a manager. Obviously, the problem with the staff it is with the management or lack there of.
I have worked in food service several times and am a manager in a customer facing business now. NEVER would this lack of response or this lack of willingness to help be acceptable. Not in any of the positions I have held in food or service industry including when I worked for McDonald's. These 2 experiences this week were a total fail. My team was disappointed when I did not bring breakfast for a 2nd time and we will not be back to this location. I hope that your general manager reads this and gets proper training for the tall, heavy set blonde woman I delt with today or asks her to move on. She should not be in charge of a store.
P.s. there were 4 people working when they said they were "short staffed". I've never seen any more than 4 people working in any other Brueggers on a...
Read moreSo, I went in to order couple of smoked salmon bagel sandwiches today. I ordered 2 smoked salmon bagels, 1 with extra salmon. As the man was making my sandwich, he tells me that these two are the last portion of the salmon, so he can't make the sandwich with extra salmon. Although I was disappointed, I told him that's fine. However, I was thinking to myself, it's only 9:15am. Perhaps they should plan better.
Anyways, I paid for my 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees and proceeded to go to the coffee station. I overheard someone in line ordering smoked salmon sandwich with the same person that just made my sandwich. The employee proceeds to go to the back to get more salmon! I calmly waited till the line died down and went back to the employee and he asked, "can I help you?" I said, "yes, I'd like my smoked salmon bagel with extra salmon." He stood there with a puzzled look. I told him, you just told me that you were out of salmon, remember? He then replied, "I didn't know we had some in the back."
That's a lie. I know this, because when he was making the guy's smoked salmon sandwich behind me, he went strait to the back and got some more. If he found out that they had more, then couldn't he have let me know that he found some, and ask if I still wanted the sandwich with extra salmon?
So, the lady standing next to him said that she will take care of it. No apologies, no explanation (other than the lie). I won't be going back there. It's too bad, because this was our place to...
Read moreThis has to be the worst brueggers I've ever been to. The kids working there nice enough. But they are always out of every kind of bagel people want. I just watched them tell every single person there that they didn't have the bagel they wanted and ended up spending more time waiting on people to figure out an alternative option than actually making bagels. While someone should be in back making more of everything they are somehow out of at 11am on a Sunday, 3 employees are standing around waiting for people to figure it out. They had 3 door dash drivers waiting for bagels that didn't even exist.
I couldn't get the everything bagel so I got a plain since they really didn't have more than a couple options. But they put the tiniest smear of cream cheese you've ever seen. Like the guy who made it was trying to make that tub last as long as possible. The bagel tasted gross too, like a bad sock. Not enough cream cheese to cover the gross tasting bagel, and the cream cheese that was there tasted like it had been sitting out since 5am. I threw out 3/4 of it and gave half of that last 1/4 to my wife. Even the Mr Pipp tasted off.
Go to another location if you really want brueggers. I'll never come back here. Plymouth and St Louis Park aren't...
