Pizza Mia! New Lenox — Restaurant in New Lenox

We used to love Pizza Mia! In the last year, we had 3 parties catered from them and usually order a pizza once a month. unfortunately our last catering order went wrong. They delivered one incorrect pan of food. It was delivered on time but we kept the food in our ovens until we were ready to serve. When we were pulling off the tops and plastic wrap and adding utensils, we realized we had mac and cheese instead of Italian sausage. We called right away and the manager or owner was very short and unprofessional. He seemed bothered that I was calling. He asked me if we ate it, and we shared that we had not but we had opened it and added our utensils to it. He said someone would come by the house and bring our correct tray. They arrived quickly with a new pan. About 10 minutes later I received a call from the owner/manager asking “so were you gonna give us our mac and cheese back” I was surprised and said “I’m sorry you wanted food back that we opened and added utensils to… give to your other customers?!” He proceeded to get angry with me and say “well yeah I hope you enjoy it because now I have to make a whole other tray for my customers!!” I could not believe it. This was their mistake and then they wanted me to stop in the middle of serving to package the other food up and give it back and did not even offer an apology… Not only unprofessional but in my opinion, not the way food should be handled… I am so sad to write this and wish it was...

I moved back to New Lenox from Saint Charles in 2010 and my search for a good delivery place began. I tried just about every place from Nancy's to Aurelios and was very unsatisfied with the food/pizza (forgot my garlic twice!) and the staff answering the phone.

When I lived in this area about 10 years ago Pizza Mia wasn't around so naturally I put them at the bottom of the list to try when I moved back..... BIG MISTAKE! Now they are the only delivery I will call.

Not only is the Pizza great, but the rest of the menu is stellar! Literally, try the beef sandwich or the Italian sausage, phenomenal. The food beats any delivery in the area hands down.

But that's not it. The online menu that allows you to customize EVERYTHING is an absolute winner. You not only have total control of your order, but it remembers all of your orders so you can just re-order a favorite, simple! It lets you store numerous addresses and credit cards so that ordering is super easy.

If you order delivery food you have to accept that somethings will be a little soggier that if you are dining in. If you can accept that, Pizza Mia New Lenox is number one...

I had heard such good things about Pizza Mia and was excited to finally try it. I ordered the Chub, one of their speciality items, and sadly it was mostly mozzarella cheese, very little beef. It is also supposed to have homemade giardiniera but there was only tiny green pieces, some type of pepper, nothing else. Last, the crust was not completely cooked all the way, very doughy and soft in some spots. I also ordered a thin crust which was better than the chub but it wasn’t excellent either. The crust was stuck to cardboard in the center of the box. There was a decent amount of toppings (ordered garlic, onion, sausage and pepper) However, the sauce was pretty bland.
