Isleta Grill — Restaurant in New Mexico

It's really rare that I give a one Star, especially for a local business. My problem isn't the food, the food is actually quite good and the atmosphere is fine, it's the attitude. I went here a good amount of times and the experience, other than one time, has never been more than, "we really don't care about you". Even when calling on the phone, it's a horrible experience. Sometimes I would even get a "Yeah?" And I would have to ask if I was calling Isleta Grill. After ordering your breakfast burrito just like you would at any other restaurant, you'll be charged for the largest burrito that they have automatically and when you ask about it you'll be told that you ordered it wrong and be given a fist full of attitude. I really tried to give this place a chance, but it was quite obvious that they either didn't care about my business or they just...

Now this place won the best Green Chile Cheeseburger and I don't know how. This is a non-seasoned burger with just a ton of green chile. And not a green chile sauce or anything just chunks of green chile. I find that if you want to know if a place makes good food here in New Mexico, get it without the green chile. If the food is still good the green chile should just make it better. This place has failed that test, it's just a plan nothing burger. Add the chile and you might as well just eat a raw green chile because that's all you will taste. Go to Big Mikes Burger in Belen, it's way better. Now the breakfast burrito is awesome, but I think the bacon helps add the salt needed to the burrito to make it all come together, and the chile just adds to it. Swing and a miss...

I have been traveling through for several years and have wanted to try Indian Fry bread. Finally I put healthy eating aside to experience it. I ordered the Indian Fry Bread taco. Being vegetarian I asked if I could have avacado instead of meat. This was doable at an extra charge. I'm pretty sure a bit of avacado is cheaper than meat. That's a huge turn off for me. The taco was $14 which is extreme for beans, Lettuce, onion, tomatoes, sauce and bread. Then I was very disappointed in the flavor. It was very bland despite the red sauce.
