We have enjoyed this cafe for more than five years. However, very recently we have had two unfortunate experiences within two weeks. First, we went in one morning for a delicious breakfast and decided to sit outside. From experience we know they don’t often see us outside so I went in to grab a couple of menus and let them know we were there. A woman I’ve never seen, who might be an owner, was busy with two men ahead of us. One was placing a large order and she was tied up with him. I waited patiently about five minutes. No problem, but during that time 6-7 people came in to sit down. I finally got her attention and said, I just wanted to let you know we are outside. She said very curtly, Ok ma’am but there are a few people ahead of you. I replied, Not really. We have been outside since they came in and I just wanted to let you know. She replied, equally curtly, Ok ma’am I’ll get to you when I can. I heard her mention to another customer that their busser hadn’t come in and they were training someone in the kitchen. We left. A few days later my visiting family wanted to go in for breakfast. I warned them of my unpleasant experience. When they returned they said they’d had the worst breakfast ever. Service was slow. The woman stated to someone that they were training someone in the kitchen. Their meals were awful. One had pancakes and said they were overly floury and had a sour taste. The other had chicken enchiladas and said they were mostly gristle. The other had cheese enchiladas that had almost no cheese and a very small sliced avocado. Traditionally we have had to wait a while for service, but the food did not disappoint. And we have never been treated rudely. I find this to be a terrible shame. This is one of our go-to places. We frequently bring out-of-town visitors. We’ve always enjoyed ourselves and we enjoy patronizing local businesses. I find it difficult to imagine going back. At least not...
Read moreWorst customer service I’ve ever come across. It says they are open until 2:00 on Sunday. So my husband and I with our baby made our way down there from Rio Rancho, never being there before. Got there at exactly 1:00. We stood outside for a minute for outdoor seating but didn’t see any signs waiting for seating or what not. Finally went in and still no one helped us. A customer that came in was the one that said he thinks you just find a seat outside. So that’s what we did. As we pulled a table into the shade a waitress had asked if we were here to eat. (WTH) else would we be doing here for? She said “oh we closed at 1:00) I told her the person on the phone and online says 2:00. All she said was sorry. So I asked if she could at least clean off the table so we could get the baby fed. She never cleaned the table for us. About 20 minutes later they were still serving food to those that I guess were sat just before 1:00. But to turn a family away because it’s exactly 1:00 is nonsense and to not clean the table for the person took it to another level. So we sat at a bench instead to feed the baby. As with coronavirus around we weren’t about to sit at a table that hasn’t been cleaned after the last people. And the owner and the waitress avoided us the entire time. Sickening. Will Never go back or refer any of my clients or friends...
Read moreI don’t know what these people are eating to rate this place a 5 star but it can’t possibly be here. The red Chile taste not like red Chile and seems to not be cooked I would say (white washed red Chile). I ordered a burrito and they display it half rolled so it “seems” as if your getting a big burrito, but in reality it’s probably half the size of a burrito you could get at Blake’s for double the price! The egg was over cooked and dry (the color which was green, look up green scrambled eggs) the potatoes were burnt, and the bacon is almost non existent, not to mention the lack of flavor throughout. Your local competition sabrositos, now they made a good burrito you should learn from them. I also ordered the monkey cakes, which are drastically over priced at almost 10 dollars for a stack of three! No egg, potatoes nor meat added at that price. They were decent but the banana they added looked pre cut and had been sitting out from the night before (not made to order) , as shown in the picture. I didn’t eat the banana. Overall it could be good but I think they pray of the fact that they can overcharge because of the type of people this area attracts.
