An unexpectedly wonderful breakfast stop out in what seems to be the middle of nowhere... the bacon breakfast burrito had several slices of super crisp bacon, fluffy scrambled eggs, creamy cheese, chunks of potato, and came with a packet of Cholula hot sauce. The tortilla was fluffy, thick, and soft like they are in this part of the country, and it as a super satisfying breakfast for two. The coffee drinks were delicious, fast, and wonderfully hot (unusual at altitude at most coffee stands). And we had room for ice cream. laughs Life is uncertain, you have to eat dessert first!!

The Chocolate Rio Grande was full of rich pinon and walnuts and was a beautiful, deep dark chocolate with good quality crisp chips of dark chocolate. My husband loved the Cafe Ole, which was really rich with cinnamon good coffee flavors and more of that great chocolate. I'm sad I can't buy Taos Cow ice cream in the grocery stores anymore, so was willing to make the trek out to get it at their shack. The quality of the food was well worth the extra miles...

We visit Taos, NM one week every year for snow skiing and we talk about the Taos Cow ice cream the other 51. Great handmade ice cream that will ruin all others. The Mexican Chocolate is by far the best ice cream I've had in my 50+ years. And that's a lot of ice cream.

However, when I bring my family of 8 into this place and spend $60 on ice cream I really don't enjoy two things I find here. Bad attitudes and poorly mixed ice cream. A simple thank you would go a long way. But the last visit we seem to be bothering the staff as we ordered and paid. Very annoying.

When they don't have Mexican Chocolate I always revert back to my other favorite, Chocolate Chip. But what I get is basically vanilla because they don't seem to know how to mix chocolate chip so that its evenly distributed. Most ice cream makers know the tricks to this so that you don't get vanilla in one serving and solid chocolate in the next.

So they loose two stars on attitude and mixing.

The Mexican Chocolate is still the best. ...

The Rueben sandwich was good, I’d give it 8/10. But the real let down was my strawberry ice cream. It tasted nothing like strawberry. The only flavor of ice cream I order anywhere is strawberry, so I can tell you that I know what strawberry ice cream tastes like. This one tasted strange and it definitely didn’t taste like what I’m used to. But the biggest disappointment was the young lady behind the counter. She couldn’t care less that I complained about it. She told me the flavor was strawberry and there was nothing she could do about it. It’s disappointing when you’re looking forward to eating something and you get something completely different and the business does nothing. I say, shame on that young lady and shame on this non-strawberry tasting ice cream. I will...

We love Arroyo Seco! Such a cute little town with tons of charm. Taos Cow is a great little diner! Cute wooden tables and mismatching wood chairs painted different regional colors were warm and inviting. The diner was busy but had good service. They have great breakfast burritos and the juevos guerrero's were fantastic. My wife had the oatmeal which she also enjoyed. We didn't have any ice cream although it looked good. The bill was under $40 for 5 people so the value alone is worth it, the food was great and we will be back

This place is tucked away in Arroyo Seco. A very cute little area on the way up to the Taos ski basin. Surprisingly I liked the BLT sandwich much better than the ice cream. I should have tried more flavors. I got cherry, chocolate chip with pinon nuts. The breakfast tacos look good but you can only get limited breakfast items later in the day. The kids working in there were not super friendly. Sadly, there are no dogs allowed, not even outside at the picnic area. Free wifi as a guest, adequate parking.
