I am leaving my original review up but am editing my review to express my current disappointment. They advertised a Fall Festival for weeks on Facebook. I went to attend today only to see a 10 dollar entry fee posted. This is just a small festival with vendors. You pay for your own food and drink I imagine the vendors are paying them for space. Green Gables owns the land and facilities so what is the fee for? No charity was listed. Just like any of the vendors they can sell their food and drink there. I posted this question on their Facebook page where they posted a $10. fee just about an hour before the event. They took my posting down so I posted here. I actually thought they were doing something for the community and good relations. My mistake. It is in extremely poor taste to advertise an event and not mention an entry fee. The Harford Fair charges $12. for a day at the fair and that includes rides. This is a very small venue to let vendors expose themselves. So again I ask. What is the fee for? It is very unprofessional to advertise an event and not mention an entry fee until an hour before the event where no one will see it. Very disappointed. Dropping my rating 2 stars. None of the details mentioned in your response were ever mentioned on Facebook. I did not get a flyer. I relied on your Facebook page to be the most current information.

I don't eat here enough... Good food, great atmosphere and friendly people. I just have one wish that they might consider staying open after 10pm on Friday and Saturday night and have bar food available and perhaps local musicians to entertain. I keep wishing someone would see the need for some form of entertainment in New Milford on weekend nights. There is no entertainment in New...
Read moreWe were in Susquehanna for some family time and we needed some place to eat. Green Gables had Great reviews so why not give it a try. I don't know why they have such great reviews. This place is in my top 3 worst places of all time. As for the service we seen our server when she took our order and brought us our food then our check. From the time we we ordered until we got our food we waited 1 hour and 12 minutes. When you wait that long you expect good hot homemade food. The salad bar was a dirty mess and the lettuce was brown and wilted. The veal parm look like the frozen stuff you by at the store. No flavor and a nice puddle of orange grease on the plate. The fries were cold and hard with the ended burnt. They must have cooked them hours before and just put them under the broiler to burn the ends. The grinder was bland and the roll was so hard you could knock on wood on it. It was like when you freeze rolls and them thaw them in the microwave and then try to toast it so no one will notice. The sausage sandwich was a soggy cold tasteless mess. The house special lasagna was worse than the frozen McCain stuff you by at the store. It was cold, rubbery and had no mozzerall at all and hardly any ricotta. One last thing for an Italian restaurant your sauce has no flavor and taste tinny like some cheap store bought brand. The funny part was when the server brought our bill she asked "how was everything?". All 7 of us just sat there in stone silence. She said great and...
Read moreNew owners...it shows but not in a good way. Very busy for weekday evening. Appeared to have 1 wait staff for entire restaurant. Maybe another but we did not observe any. A "CC & Ginger" was ordered. A birthday celebration. The "drink" arrived with an apology of we ran out of Canadian Club so it's not a drink, just ginger ale but it's on us. Okay maybe someone could have come to the table to ask if I would like a different brand of whiskey or a different cocktail. Nope just brought the soda and never return to ask if we would like another drink or desert. Husband had a draft beer and was planning to order another. His veal Parm was very good. My chicken parm was actually burned in areas of the breading where it was do hard I struggled with the knife to cut off the burned parts. The meat inside was dry and stringy. It was a bad dinner with minimal service only to order and finally bring the check. We travel about 35 miles to get to the Gables. We will give it another try later in the Fall but the new owners are not prepared, you have to adjust days or hours if you don't have adequate help in these trying times and the bartender a little common sense..offer a substitute if you run out or ask if a different drink is of interest. Don't bring a root beer to the table if a Coors Light was ordered. We'll see...
