New Milford Deli and Bagels — Restaurant in New Milford

The sandwiches keep getting smaller and smaller. When I was in there yesterday, I ordered my usual $7.50 sandwich. There is a new kid working and he makes my sandwich so small. 1 slice of cheese and 2 pieces of ham. No big deal, he's new and I get it on a croissant so I can see why he might have thought it a smaller breakfast sandwich. He was not the one to ring me up. When I paid and the woman behind the counter handed me my sandwich, I noticed it was really really small. So I asked them to remake it. The older man who usually works there went about remaking it, or so I thought. When I got home I noticed that not only did he NOT remake the sandwich, but he only added 2 other thin slices of ham, no cheese. I should have checked the bag the second time and just asked for my money back, so thats on me for not checking until I got home. I will not be returning and I want it to be clear that this is NOT because of the new kid, but because of the older man who is definitely not new (I think he owns it but Im not sure) for refusing to actually remake my sandwich and doing a halfass job of adding more meats to the sandwich, that now 3 other people have touched. I have been frequenting this local business for years. Not too long ago it transitioned to a new owner. I am happy to say that the quality of the food and the food customer service has not diminished one bit. I am very particular about my food orders being correct. I have never communicated that to the new owner. Today, I ordered a breakfast sandwich. Shortly after placing the order online for pickup my phone rings and it was the owner confirming how I wanted my sandwich prepared. He had no way of knowing that I love the feeling of being taken care of. Knowing that he cares about how I feel about my food makes my loyalty to the business even stronger. My husband and I try to order from here as much as we can. We usually place an order over the phone and pick up before we head to work. The wait time is minimal even though this a favorite local spot. The owners are amazing and so down to earth. We love the food has they have great food at a reasonable price. We usually order the Belgium Waffles or their French Toast platter with eggs and potatoes. Also, the sandwiches there are amazing and they do give a healthy portion. The owners are very sweet and giving people as they host the local girl scouts prior to COVID. I have seen them give the girls free food while they sell their cookies.
