Yesterday, I entered this restaurant, I ordered a vegetarian square slice along with a shrimp parmesan sandwich, salad with house dressing and a Snapple beverage. The first statement, the older gentleman says to me is..."do you have money"? I looked at him, he smiled and said, "I'm just kidding", I said ok... by the time, the order was completed and placed at the top of the oven, for warmth, I guess; while I'm standing right there...he takes the order down and gives me the order and says, "oh the order was just completed".. I realized that the order did not contain any napkins or utensils, I stated this to the same gentleman and he handed me a few napkins, but then asked me, if I am going to need utensils or am I going to eat with my hands. I was embarrassed and felt disgusted by his remarks; there was a caucasian couple who was standing behind me with a baffled look on their faces, because they heard his remarks, as well; I became LIVID... I stated to the gentleman, I did not appreciate his remarks and he do not know me at all to make such remarks to me and I stated to him that he did not ask the couple behind me that exact rhetoric; he insisted that he was playing, but he wasn't, I was certain about that. His tone was condescending, degrading and for the most part, extremely insulting with a racist undertone. It is unfortunate for this company that I will no longer support their business, because, not only am I an educator, who works in Bergen County, 15 minutes away from this restaurant, but I am also the Founder and Executive Director of a thriving nonprofit organization; in which, both entities, along with private engagements, require for me and my staff, to order catered food from prominent, established restaurants of my choice for many hosted events; such as pta events, fund raising dinners, educator luncheons and not to mention, my own personal family functions, etc. . I will no longer support this business or visit there again and I will also relay to my colleagues, about the substandard treatment that I experienced there as well.
Sincerely,
An educated black woman, who will continue to support businesses, who respect and value their patrons, no matter what race, creed or sexual...
Read moreThe woman who took my order over the phone (6/19/25, 8pm), doesn't really know how to efficiently take customer order. I asked her what the portion size is for Carbonara Fetuchini for 5 people and she said 5 orders, and when I got there too much Fetuchini and I asked how much is the 1 tray is $47. So if 1 regular order is $15 × 5 = $75, wow too much! The 1 order is good for 2 people now that I open my orders. When I have explained to the manager what has happened the manager told me that the woman who took my order doesn't know how to take orders. I hope the manager can educate the one who's taking orders, be able to assist customers correctly, and know the menu well. I also asked other questions about the menu but she still couldn't answer my questions or understand. If that worker still cannot efficiently take customer orders & understand what a customer is asking for they should have a different job in that restaurant or take a different...
Read moreWe ordered a vegetable pie. It wasn't necessarily good, or bad. It was different... The pizza sauce they use is more tomato-ketchup like and different from what I am used to from pizzerias. The pie also had very little cheese on it with some slices having more than 50% of it with no cheese at all. It was more like saucy ketchup bread with vegetables. Perhaps people like it this way, but we wouldn't do it again.
We also ordered a burger with fries. The fries were either overcooked or re-heated, quite disappointing. The burger, however was good, but the lettuce was wilted and possibly old.
When selecting a place to order, we always look to reviews to narrow our options. The positive reviews here convinced us, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing...
