McDonald's — Restaurant in New Providence

There should be an ongoing pool that is devoted to how many ways this place can screw up an order. The only reason I ever go here is to get food for my kids when all other options have been exhausted. I've narrowed down all their orders to the same exact thing because invariably this place will screw something up. Ask for something different, like a yogurt instead of apples or apple juice instead of chocolate milk and they will mess it up. Almost like they're doing it on purpose. Probably the worst was when they didn't put fries in with 2 of 3 Happy Meals. The last time I ordered the same thing, but with an extra coffee. I got to the window and the girl handed me just the coffee and said, "That's all you have, right?" So I had to give the order to another person. I think they would have given me anything I asked for because they have no clue what's going on. If you go, go inside, don't go to drive thru. Even then, double and triple check your order. Years ago when they were under construction I was hoping something else would go in this location. When given the chance, I drive to the BK in Stirling as they're always nice and have yet to mess up an order. Oh, and don't bother to call this place to complain, because the phone doesn't work.

Update, they just redid the interior and now have touch screen ordering with table service. The jury is still out on if this will improve the place but any time I don't have to interact with...

Update 2024: This McDonalds has upped their game. I don't go very often but the orders are always correct. The drive through moves quickly. I still wish the fries would come out hotter but that's always the luck of the draw.

I last came here in August 2015. I mostly use the drive-thru and I would come here once a week while my daughter was taking guitar lessons across the street. No matter what I order, they always get an item wrong or leave it out completely. Several times I've gotten other people's orders. Once I got fried onions on my Quarter Pounder. It's very frustrating to have to go back inside and flag someone down. For the most part, they are very unapologetic. The fries are inconsistent and they are either cold or have too much salt. Very rarely do they come out hot!! Once I decided to go inside and asked for fries without salt (so they would come out hot) and they looked at me as if I had two heads. I was told that was impossible to do. So I said I would wait for a fresh batch. The two people proceeded to whisper about me and gave me looks. Needless to say, I don't come...

Employees seemed nice; from the order taker at the drive-thru to the pickup window. Probably the most professional McDonald's workers I've ever come across. The two guys didn't do anything spectacular but their mannerisms just seemed different than any fastfood joint I've been to. Maybe I've encountered too many horror shows at drive-thrus these last few years. Anyhoo, I love me some McD coffee but need more milk than what is actually poured in the cup. So I usually order Happy Meals (4 pc nuggets) with milk, mainly for the milk and the toy (yes shame on me). At this location, fries were served in 2 mini containers which I thought was cute. If you have a little one, I'm sure they'll appreciate they can hold the fries in their tiny hands; less spillage. Taking a star off because fries were kind of stale and no dipping sauce/ketchup for nuggets & fries. Yes I hear there's a tomato shortage but on the receipt it says I'm getting at least ketchup. 10/13/2022...
