Mom's Home Cooking — Restaurant in New Smyrna Beach

I am very much a reviewer who peruses previous reviews before patronizing a location. Based on the reviews I was on the fence, but I have learned to read between the lines. I am very happy that I chose to bring my family to this restaurant. Mom's reminds me of the type of homestyle restaurants my grandmother used to take me to as a kid, very cozy and reminds you more of your Mom's kitchen versus a chain restaurant and it's lush amenities. The décor may be a little outdated compared to newer establishments, but I appreciate the nostalgia. The staff we encountered were all friendly and focused on our needs throughout the visit. I made sure to tip a lot more than what the standard is because we appreciated the service. On top of all of these other great qualities the food was amazing, just like grandma or mom's cooking. Hi went there today which is 2/19/22 had lunch, and same had breakfast, which I didn't really eat my lunch, the sandwich, wasn't really tasty my burger was kinda raw which I don't eat, the bread was to toasty.now since it was the first time ever going there the waitress that waited on our table was kinda a rude we was told the restaturant, close's at 2:00'clock which we didn't know till she came back and started rushing us to order which she didn't have to do because it was. Only like 10:30 we were waiting for another couple to come so we went ahead and placed everyone's order.so when she brought the tickets. Had the French toast breakfast which included eggs and either sausage or bacon. It was OK. The sausage was the best part. It came in bratwurst sized links and was spicy in a good way. French toast was average. But my scrambled eggs were horrible. It was more like an omelette but in one solid rubbery brick. Not light and fluffy. Can't believe someone who gets paid to cook can mess-up something as simple as scrambled eggs... Also, I don't know if it was just unfortunate timing, but when I went into the men's restroom to wash my hands before I ate, it smelled really awful. So much that I had to hold my breath.
