Bella-Napoli Italian Bakery — Restaurant in New York

Went to Bella-Napoli Italian Bakery of Troy Inc today. The counter was staffed by young women who were more interested in socializing with each other than working. The “veteran” working the counter was not much better. Anyway, I ordered a couple things but in particular, I asked for 2 jelly donuts. Got all the way home to find out I was given 2 powdered sugar donuts, not jelly. Went back to get my jelly donuts and the “veteran” employee made me give her the wrong donuts back so they could throw them out. I said you would rather throw them out then let me have them for my inconvenience? She pretended she didn’t understand what I said so repeated myself and got no response. Another employee just stated she already threw them away. I do believe a smart remark was made in response to my complaint regarding the poor service received AFTER I turned to walk out the door. How convenient - wait until I turn my back so I don’t hear your disrespectful comment. Way to go Bella Napoli! What the heck happened to customer service? So utterly...

Alas, having to change my 5+ star review and recommendation to a 2 star. Staff Extraordinary 5 Stars! They remember what you like etc. Extremely accommodating. Owner knows you one day, not the next! Service from front staff Excellent! Either hustle or quiet...expected. Cake Decoration exactly as you request!

Issue Product Cheaping Filler Quality. We looked forward to the Cake. No longer. Last Cake was 30% Cake 70% horrible tasting frosting and ranch. Inedible. Tossed. Cake before it same! Noticed same on chocolate used on several cookie items and in cookie based such as the plain and peanut butter kisses. We tried several other items, even radio cake....to see if it was an off day. But same from items at both shops and assorted items we picked up. New baker? No idea? Change of ingredient product brand? Who knows? Odd tiny cake layer to frosting frosting ration..not pleasing. Frosting tasting. Inedible.

Hope you fix whatever has caused these negative changes. It has been noticed. Particularly, as prices...

Had been looking forward to visiting the bakery as it had been highly recommended by friends and family who have lived in/visited Troy. While up for a tour of RPI last year, we swung by before heading back to RI. While everything in there smelled and looked amazing, I can't even tell you how anything was because of the extremely bad taste that was left in my mouth from the extremely rude staff! It was not closing time, and there was only 1 other customer in the bakery when we arrived so there was no excuse. Not one smile or "may I help you" when we entered as I guess their conversation was more important. The worst was an older woman (late 40s-mid 50ish) who waited on us...not only did she never smile, but seemed irritated that we were taking a few minutes to decide what to get. She rang our order up, collected our money, and never made eye contact or said thank you!! Needless to say, even though my son will be attending RPI for the next 4 years, we will not be returning to...
