GANNI'S PIZZERIA — Restaurant in New York

I ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AT LEAST 3 TIMES A MONTH THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS HOWEVER I WILL STOP ORDERING FROM THEM DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY TREAT US MINORITIES LIKE WE ARE ANIMAL. ONE DAY I CALLED AND ASKED IF I CAN PAY OVER THE PHONE WITH MY DEBIT CARD BECAUSE I HAD NO CASH AT HAND THE LADY THAT TOOK MY ORDER CLEARLY TOLD ME SHE WAS UNABLE TO TAKE MY DEBIT CARD PAYMENT DUE TO THE FACT THAT I LIVE IN NYCHA. SO WHAT MAKES MY DEBIT CARD DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER PERSON THAT DOESNT LIVE IN NYCHA. HOWEVER I LOOKED PASSED THAT SITUATION AND I ORDERED AGAIN I ASKED THE DELIVERY GUY CAN HE MEET ME IN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAD A NEW BORN BABY BAD ENOUGH I WENT DOWNSTAIRS WITH A 2 WEEK OLD BABY DISPUTE HOW THE WHETHER IS THE DELIVERY GUY SAID NO HE COULDNT PASS THE SIDEWALK. I EXPLAINED I WAS ALREADY DOWN STAIRS AND I HAD A NEWBORN BABY DELIVERY GUY STATED HE DIDN'T CARE IF I WANT THE FOOD I WILL HAVE TO WALK ALL THE WAY TO THE SIDEWALK. WHY TREAT US THAT RESIDE NYCHA CUSTOMERS LIKE ANIMALS. I CALLED TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER AND THE LADY THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE CLAIM SHE WAS THE PIZZA MANAGER SHE STATED THE OWNER WASN'T AVAILABLE I ASKED HER WHAT TIME CAN I CALL BACK AND SHE RESPONDED TO ME HOW THE F** SHE SUPPOSE TO KNOW IF SHE NOT THE OWNERS WIFE. I WILL NEVER EVER ORDER FROM THESE PPL AGAIN AND I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOBODY TO ORDER FROM THESE PPL CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS AND THEY ARE NOTHING BUT DISCRIMINATORS. JONNYS ON CLASSON AND DEKALB AND SAMS PIZZERIA ON FRANKILIN AND DEKLAB IS JUST AS GOOD ALONG WITH A BIGGER VARIETY AND THEY TREAT THEIRS CUSTOMERS...

The first time I stepped foot into Ganni's was December 15th, 2016, at 1am. It was 22 degrees out, and the windows were fogged as I crossed the street. As I entered through the grimy glass door, security gate overhead, I was met with a wall of noise - a table of off duty patrol cops sharing a joke. A tall yuppie in a beautiful camel peacoat was yelling at the owner, Ganni himself. A short, balding Italian man, Ganni will call you "my friend", "buddy", or "man", regardless of your race, gender, or your actual demeanor towards him. Standing in that doorway, the color and sound rocked me back, a vivid still life of America. Remembering back to that moment brings with it every smell and sound and sight. Like the immutable drive of a salmon to return to the river it was born in, that restaurant calls me back, again and again. New York is not a place I could live. It's too brash and the current of life moves too swiftly, but Ganni's rises just above that. It is a place of rest for the drunk and hungry, a place where time slows down a little bit. The worst. If you eat here, you don't care about yourself. Overpriced pizza that taste worse than ellios. Its undercooked and uses the cheapest cheese and sauce. I have literally had dollar slices that were scrumptious in comparison. The worst thing is they serve old pizza intentionally. Had this happen to a friend of mine tonight. She made it clear that she wanted to wait for a fresh pie of the bacon pepperoni slice (pretty standard ny request). The sniveling little old man (y'all know who im talking about), said that was the last slice of its kind and they wouldn't be making anymore pies of it for the remainder of the night. It was 830pm, this place closes at like 2am and it's their most popular slice.

It was only 2 minutes after we received our slices that a fresh pie of the bacon pepperoni came out. When she approached him about it, he just shrugged his shoulders. Oh, and this was like the 2nd time this has happened.
