I’ve been taking my daughter here for the last 4 years. All was fine at this typical park. You get the artsy Pratt students that like to sit and smoke cigarettes but they are harmless and then the local kids that smoke weed at the picnic tables and also in the public restrooms in groups. The basketball side is great to let your kid learn to ride a bike or scooter if it’s empty. The park is never that clean and lots of garbage and syringes where the hand ball court is. There are lots of ppl at this playground without children. Recently I went and a man in his late 30s approached my 4yr old daughter and attempted to pick her up near the swings. In fact I wish there were more courts in the city when I was a social worker and wanted to play with a client kid. But today I witnessed a full on adult fight in the courts alongside kids playing in the splash court and playground. I seriously thought someone was going to get hurt. It eventually died down, but it makes me think, should this just be designated for kids only? I think the coexistence is not working between adult/child play areas.
