Great Ethiopian spot on Governor's Island for lunch or a small bite to eat. They have outdoor seating only, with bench tables where you can enjoy the nice weather and birds chirping (weather permitting). The staff is friendly and after you order, they give you a number which they call out once your order is ready. We ordered: - Lentil Sambusa (2 pieces) - Crispy Chicken Caesar Wrap The lentil sambusa was warm and crispy on the outside and filled with flavor on the inside. The crispy chicken caesar wrap completely exceeded my expectations--the crispy fried chicken was delicious and the Romain lettuce, cherry tomatoes and shaved Parmesan complemented it very nicely. I don't like too much dressing, so I'd asked for the Caesar dressing on the side, which they kindly accommodated. I highly recommend you stop by for a tasty meal.

My 1st time trying Ethiopian food and I am in love! The food portions is great! Flavorful and extremely yummy! I'm in love with the beet salad! The goat cheese is absolutely creamy and Divine! The French fries are hot and crispy! Well seasoned with a perfect hint of spice. The chicken rice bowls are seasoned well and the rice is cooked to perfection! You guys gotta try it! There are seats out front under shade and It's a perfect spot to grab a quick bite to eat and enjoy the nice weather! I will be back to try the other items on the menu.

This bar is a NO!I went there i was waiting in the line and a guy after me came and they said that he was going to be the last one cause they were going to close.As we were waiting in line,all of the sudden the cashier boy said,oh we are sold out of everything now while they obviously weren’t!The staff is rude and wasn’t responsible for anything.I went to that guy and said,im sorry we were waiting in line and we were the last ones how can you say last minute that we are not taking more orders and we are sold out of everything after the clients are waiting 20 minutes in line,and u urself said that we are the last ones that you ate going to take. They didn’t even apologize just a sorry man we are sold out...

Imagine two random people who decided to visit Governor's Island in the off season

We are happy, but starving. And suddenly, the most delicious and spicy smell finds us. We follow our noses and find this small cafe that we swear wasn't there even 20 minutes before.

Oh. My. God.

Maybe it was our stomachs, but we are going to be talking about this cafe for MONTHS. We stuffed ourselves on this food, and was damn near tempted to buy even more.

Please go here if you're on Governor's. You've got nothing to lose but your grumbling stomach...and maybe a few bucks. But...
