Simone's — Restaurant in New York

Customer care is always going to be a major problem at these Jamaican spots. Came here today May 26 after 7:00 p.m. My sister and I just brought my mom home from the hospital and we were hungry enough for me to stand outside the restaurant to wait for food because the line was so long. I didn't skip anyone or invade any space though my situation was bad. There were at least 10 people in front of me. I was patient.

At least 15 mins after, it's my turn. The angry looking light skinned lady (always look mad at the world) was taking my order, out of nowhere her friend came beside me and started ordering over me... the worst part is her starting to serve that lady while I was still waiting and ordering. I let her know that the lady wasn't with me and the server was speaking to me so aggressively taking bout 'knowing the lady wasn't with me,' basically letting me know I have to wait AGAIN, I just left the restaurant, i am not valued. Simone stop just hiring family, they are going to be your downfall.

I go to simones often with my family, BAD customer care will have you guys losing good customers. I didn't argue, but it felt bad. I was ordering 3 goat, 3 soup, pudding and drinks. CUSTOMER...

As much as my family members swear by this restaurant, I stay away from here for a reason.

I stopped here to buy food to drop off for my boyfriend at work.. I usually use my debit card, but remembered I had cash and wanted to get change anyway. I ordered his food and a drink.. all seemed perfectly fine… until it was time to pay.

I pulled out a $100 dollar bill & handed it to the employee.. she then proceeds to “whisper” in patois ( which I also speak because my family is Jamaican) to the other worker that she “doesn’t wanna take it because if it’s fake, she don’t wanna hear nobody’s mouth.”

She made me walk to the corner store to break the bill before I could pay for the order. I don’t appreciate being profiled because I look young and I came in paying with a bigger bill. I work a 9-5 & earn my money just like y’all. Invest in a counterfeit marker or a bill checker if your employees are so nervous about it. Definitely won’t be spending my...

Tried the food when they were still new, not bad. Tried it recently since minor renovations, enabling more counter space. Mediocre tasting at best, prices a little steep. The curry goat could be better flavored and for the price, too light on the meat and heavy on the Rice. (It's Curry GOAT not curry Rice)

3-4-21 Update So I happened to give this another go I ordered the same thing I did when I did the first review. The darker complexion lady who brings items from the kitchen is obnoxious. She gave me another round of more rice and less meat, asked for plantain and she insisted it's not included. (one piece was put in) and then says $10 for the whole order.
