Liberty Island's Undiscovered Treasure: Statue of Liberty Crown Café The Crown Café on Liberty Island is an excellent option if you're visiting the Statue of Liberty and want to find a terrific place to eat. This café provides a nice dining experience with a range of delectable alternatives, and it is conveniently positioned close to one of the most famous monuments in the world. The efficiency of the café is the first notable feature. I anticipated long lines because of the large number of guests, but the service was pleasantly prompt and efficient. In addition to making sure everything was stocked and clean, the staff was kind and accommodating. For a tourist destination, the culinary choices is impressive. There is something for everyone, including hot dinners, traditional American favorites, and fresh salads and sandwiches. Their Statue of Liberty Burger was delicious, juicy, and cooked to perfection when I tried it. They had generous portion sizes and delicious fries. The yogurt parfaits and fresh fruit cups looked fantastic for a lighter choice. Additionally, they provide gluten-free and vegetarian options, which is advantageous. The Crown Café's outside seating is among its nicest features. It's a special experience to eat while taking in views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. After all the sightseeing, it's a tranquil respite. The food is of higher quality than you would find at a normal tourist café, and the prices are fair given the location. Crown Café is worth a visit whether you're in the mood for a full meal, a coffee break, or a quick snack. The experience of visiting Liberty Island is enhanced by this café. It's a must-see when touring the Statue of Liberty because of the excellent cuisine, first-rate service, and...
Read moreOne of the staffers / cooks here was totally rude, inconsiderate and a complete jerk. On Saturday 13 June 2024, I came to the cafe with my family and all we wanted was some bottled water. I had spoken to one of the cashiers about just getting some water to pay for instead of standing in the long food line for something that wasn't made to order. Actually, there was a person refilling the refrigerator which made getting water even easier. A short, older, Caucasian guy, I think his name was Ray or something like that, yelled at me and attempted to berate me for not standing in line - after I had already spoken to someone about just getting some water for my children. He attempted to berate me which was totally unexpected and rude. I do want to thank another staffer, Jayda, for being so nice to myself and my children, especially after observing his behavior towards us. She was professional and most of all, understanding. This cafe needs to create a way for people to just purchase bottled water instead of standing in the food line which was extremely long and slow.
Response to Owner: When I arrived in the cafe, I did not see any vending machines. Admittedly, there may have been some that I completely missed as the lines were long, there were a lot of people, and it was very busy. If there are no vending machines, then maybe having one could be useful and could somewhat help with the long lines. If I missed a vending machine, then directing me to one would have been a great help. Thanks for your...
Read moreThe food was fine, but the line process at lunch time was a hot mess. Guest waited in a long line (20-30 mins), could pick up some items along the way, like pre-made salads or cold sandwiches and drinks. They are then ushered a counter where you can place your order. Each order is placed on a single tray which you then must carry and wait in another line to pay. At this point you pray: 1) that you don't drop everything and 2) that your food will still be warm when you finally get to eat. My kids are old enough to wait outside at a table for my husband and I. I'm not sure what would have been better - having them wait outside, so we didn't add more people to the chaos inside, or having them come in to help us carry trays - because we definitely needed more hands. Once we finally got to pay, the cashier was not super friendly, made us put our trays on the counter next to her to ring it up even though it took quite the effort to hold all the things. Once we paid she immediately hollered "next" - expecting us to hurriedly move on, getting our food off the counter she wanted it placed on. It was all just very chaotic. I think an online ordering system or pay at the same counter you get your food at would really help the chaos at this cafe. It's probably not too bad at a less busy time. We loved the outdoor space to eat. There were plenty of tables, it was clean and the food was good. Next time, for us, unless the kids are starving I would rather find somewhere else to eat lunch not on...
