Threes Brewing - Governors Island — Restaurant in New York

Great spot for a casual beer or big party!

We’ve been here several times for beers/lunch and have always had a great time. The picnic tables provide a really nice place to hang out. We liked it so much that we decided to throw our son’s 1st birthday party here, which was amazing.

Events Manager Gretchen was incredibly helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed and that our party had a reserved space with plenty of tables/chairs and lawn to set up a few yard games. It had the vibe of a backyard party, which is a nice change for NYC. Gretchen and her team made sure that our guests always had drinks and that the food was coming out at the right pace. My wife and I hosted a 100 person outdoor wedding here and couldn't have had a better experience. Their event coordinator Angie was extremely transparent from the start and made planning the party a breeze throughout every step. We did the open bar package with Three's Brewing paired with the food package from Spectro (two shipping containers next to one another with a wooden deck/patio in the front), all of which were delicious and very affordable. Get a beer here but skip the food. Three sandwiches and a kid's hot dog plus two beers was almost $70, not including tip! Nothing even came with potato chips or a pickle. My sandwich (ricotta and veggies) though yummy, could be eaten in about four bites. If you're looking for a great food plus bang for your buck go to Island Oyster. The prices are similar to everything on Governors Island but the portions are plentiful and the view is fantastic. I would have given this place one star but my sandwich was actually good, just way way too small...
