A Slice of Perfection at Cacciatori Pizza & Pasta â A 5-Star NYC-Style Experience in Newark, Delaware
If youâre on the hunt for the perfect NYC-style pizza experience in Newark, Delaware, look no further than Cacciatori Pizza & Pasta. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the cleanliness and attention to detailâalways a great first sign. But what truly set this place apart was the cool, understated customer service. Everyone made eye contact, acknowledged my presence, and created a welcoming atmosphere without being overbearing.
The standout moment? The guy (Joe) who took my order. Patient, kind, and genuinely helpfulâexactly what you want when youâre navigating a menu (which, letâs be honest, I sometimes struggle with). He made the ordering process effortless, which is rare and deserves its own round of applause.
But hereâs where it gets even better: while waiting for my togo order, I had a side fry while I waited amongst 2 slices of pizza and a salad. I noticed something special. The cooks came out, sat in the diner, and ate. And in that moment, Cacciatori Pizza & Pasta transformed from just another pizza joint into something truly authentic and homey. Watching the very people who crafted these dishes sit down to enjoy them gave the restaurant a unique, almost family-style feel. It wasnât just about serving foodâit was about loving the food they create. That kind of confidence in the quality of their own dishes speaks volumes.
Now, letâs talk about the pizza. Flawless. The crust had that perfect NYC balanceâcrispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. The sauce? Rich, tangy, and layered with flavor. The cheese? Melted to perfection. Every bite was a reminder of why NYC-style pizza is in a league of its own.
This is the kind of restaurant that gets it right. Itâs more than just great pizzaâitâs a vibe, an experience, and a slice of something real. Whether youâre a Newark local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and grab a slice (or a whole pie) at Cacciatori Pizza & Pasta.
â 5 STARS â without hesitation.

Read moreThe staff was really nice but the food was very below average. We ordered the penne vodka, garlic knots, a focaccia pizza and two salads. Everything was fairly tasteless. The garlic knots were just dough balls with very little flavor, the pizza was just okay but bland, and the penne was to thick and stuck together with too much parmesan cheese. The house salad dressing was super thick, also with too much cheese and no real balsamic vinegar taste. (edit: I thought it was cheese thickening the dressing but apparently it is something else - in any event, it is way too thick). As a side note, sodas only come in cans or bottles with no fountain sodas. And the prices are a bit higher than one might prefer, especially for the pizzas. Overall, I definitely would not return. And Tony's is right around the corner and much better (although also rather costly if you bring...
Read moreAlways liked the pizza here so I suggested to some friends we go there for dinner the other other evening and we tried their pasta. My husband had the evening's special of Seafood pasta, which the menu described as having clams, mussels, scallops, calamari, and shrimp. The calamari was just chunks, not the normal circular shape. I couldn't believe the shrimp...they were tiny canned baby shrimp, seriously baby shrimp, about 1/4" long. The price was $21.95 which is around the same or above seafood pasta dishes from other restaurants in the area. I've never ordered seafood pasta before and had baby shrimp in it. It always has medium -large shrimp. We said something to the waitress about the unacceptable size of the shrimp and she just nodded her head and said that's the size shrimp they use. She didn't offer to bring another dish, get a manager,...
