Food was hot and served in a timely manner. Everything was delicious. The Malaysian pancake is so good and unique. My daughter had the 'birds nest'. I don't know how else to describe it but as a nest of potato that's mashed and deep fried. It tastes like the best part of a chicken pot pie crust. Lettuce wraps were good. I got the mango salad, no dressing. I'm glad I did bc I didn't care for the dressing. Service was good. We were greeted quickly, and the waitstaff was friendly. There were several options for gluten-free and vegetarian, which was helpful. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend trying this restaurant out!

Overall rating: 2.7/5 Thai Red Curry - on the watery side Malaysian chicken - do not recommend Satay Chicken - recommend Calamari Sushi - recommend Roti Canai Chicken - recommend (only one piece of chicken and potato) The Malaysian chicken was literally just drizzled with sweet and sour sauce, we sent it back after one bite. Not what the description said, but the waiter kept telling us we were wrong. They didn't take it off at a courtesy given the fact we ate one bite. The dinner started strong with the appetizers but the entrees did not live up us returning. If we did it would only be for the apps and sushi. Overall it's okay.

Pretty interior and service is nice. Food is very hit or miss. Tried many traditional Malaysian foods but was mostly disappointed. The roti canai was fine but not flaky enough. The beef satay was also okay but lacking in true flavor (need longer marinade). The hainan chicken was mediocre. Meat was tender enough but soy sauce was not flavorful enough and they don’t serve chicken rice here which is truly the star of a real Hainan chicken dish. The char kway teow did not taste at all like the real thing. Very bland, no sausages, barely any seafood and no char. The vegetables were also mediocre. Probably would not return

Okay, the food here is AMAZING. But the ownership and lack of customer service is absolutely jaw dropping. I took my wife here for mother's day and it was legitimately the worst dining experience we have ever had. We also had family from over seas visiting and it was embarrassing to put them through that. There were 5 of us. One entre came out, then 45 minutes later another one came out. Then 20 minutes after that they brought out two more entres. The last one to get their food, waiting yet another 25 minutes, was the ONLY MOTHER SITTING AT THE TABLE. Mind you, it's mother's day!

When we raised question regarding wait time, service and the lack thereof, the response was "its mother's day, were busy". The responses were absolutely disrespectful and disingenuous, at best.

When we asked about why the dishes were coming out 20-45 minutes apart from one another, the waiter responded with "there were people here before you guys".... ummm... Okay? That doesn't offer an explaination to my question. Was our dinner order not put in at the same time? Did they submit one of our entres, submit another tables' order, then submit another one of ours, then submit a take out order, then submit another one of our entres, and so on? Anyway, we finally told our waiter to get us to go boxes, since we did not eat our food due to nobody wanting to eat without "mom", and the fact that we all lost our appetites. We also told our waiter that there was absolutely no way we were paying for cold food and poor service.

He grabbed a "manager", who was really just the owners poor young daughter, and told her to come deal with us. She reiterated the obvious to us: "You know, it's mother's day?".

I responded with some practical advice like to unplug the phone to stop take-out orders, and also to unplug internet connection to cancel any online orders from coming in. (I used to be a store manager at a restaurant and I understand how to properly manage a short staff on a very busy day.)

The lack of professionalism and ownership this place displayed was absolutely eye opening and jaw dropping.

The "manager" came back with a "the best we can do is 10% off". 10%?! Yall only gave us 5% of service!

We continued to negotiate for our due and according to the way we were treated.

All things considered, the poor service, watching like 20 clients get up and WALK OUT, it's safe to say this place lost our business forever. We will be sure to tell our family and friends about the disrespect we felt from staff and...

This restaurant was recommended to me to try on mothers day today. I was optimistic even though I EXPECTED there would be a wait after trying to call 6 other restaurants for reservations. We were told on the phone at 3pm that if we came after 4pm we would be seated immediately. ~ great! Our family of 5 were seated immediately and our order was taken within 10 minutes of sitting down. ~ also great! Fast forward 45 minutes - no contact by our waiter, no refills, no attention given to the wait. Then pieces of our party of 5 order started coming out. First sushi then 30 minutes later 2 entrees then after another 20 minutes, we were getting frustrated and hangry. Again, no attention to the wait and 20+ people standing at the door for take out orders. Finally, after a total of 1 hour 30 minutes since being seated - we asked for a manager with 2 entrees still missing. We were told "he's busy cooking". HmmđŸ€” so we spoke to his daughter (maybe 16 years old?). We were told it's mother's day, there's others before us, etc etc. We requested some compensation after NOT being offered anything. We were then told after the 16 year old daughter discussed with her dad (the "manager" - term used LOOSELY) that we could have 10% off 😂 SLAP IN THE FACE. We did not eat. Our 3 entrees that came out were cold. We took all meals to go. We left hungry. We left disgusted. We told other guests about what we requested and what we were given. We will NOT return. We will have a bad taste in our mouth for the absolute disrespect and disgusting "service" we were given. This restaurant wants your business. They want you to eat their food. They want your money. That. Is. It. Sincerely, The party of 5 that received 50% off their bill after MUCH negotiating - which should have NEVER happened with a 16 year old daughter as the mediator and the staff being on defense after AWFUL service. No apology. No care. No more business from 5 people and definitely from other disappointed customers with angry faces as we...

TERRIBLE! My fiancé and I went there tonight for New Year's Eve. We both ordered Sushi, and were told that it would take a little longer, which we said would be fine. IT TOOK TWO HOURS from when we ordered for the food to get to us. This on New Year's Eve, at 6:15 pm, when the restaurant was only half full, on a day when they even normally are open till 10. The restaurant never got busy, except for numerous take out orders that we watched sail past us as we got more and more upset. Our waitress told us a number of times that it would be just a few more minutes, starting at about the hour. She was also very inattentive, many times avoiding my eye so she wouldn't have to come talk to us. After my fiancé and I ate (the food was fine, nothing out of the ordinary, or in ANY WAY justifying waiting two hours for) and we had received the check, I asked to speak to the manager, to see if we could get anything off our check. They took off ten percent, the normal amount they take off for a student I.D. They should have comp-ed the entire meal. It basically ruined our New Year's Eve. I would under no circumstance recommend Pinang restaurant to...
